Those Nick action figures are lookin' swank in the promo shots, but if I can't get those with similar painting, I probably won't bother. Half of the draw for me is the super-cool painted detail.

Anyone know if Playmates are ever gonna release their Mirage Turtles they were planning for the 25th anniversary, or are those scrapped for good?

This is a new take on the Classic series, and for the most part it might be the best ever (though still not quite ideal), but the size is just a huge issue. (No pun intended.) It almost seems like they're more intended as collector's items meant to be displayed prominently, but the many articulations give lie to that notion. With that range of motion, they seem meant to be played with, but what's really the point when they don't fit with your other figures? Playmates is saying that if the line is successful, they'll make more figures in the Classic line, compatible with the big turtles, but I could see it being unsuccessful because at its start, it will be incompatible with anything else. Also, even if it is successful and more figures get produced, I can't see vehicles and playsets being produced for it. They's just be too big.

Overall, though I would tolerate the angry expressions, I think the size is just too much of a turn-off. It makes things too inconvenient, and would probably be more expensive than figures produced in the "right" size.
Thanks you thank you thank you thank you!
I can't stop shaking my head after watching that video.
I love that these old toon figures are going to be up to my warrior dragon customs shoulders..not.

Ugh! *face palm*

Storage shell on an adult collector figure? & 10 to 11 inch figures are you kidding me?
These things are going to tower over anything that pre-exists on the market.
People want their figures to go together.
Does Playmates ever seriously ever do any sort of research before they make things?
I can't stop shaking my head over what this guy is saying.
I'm sorry they look nice but now my interest has seriously dropped in this line.
We're adults we want 100% accurate collector figures not crazy action features.
But perhaps I'm just speaking for myself here....
The ones they're displaying are from the new series.. not the Classics... idk why he's talking about the storage turtles during this video

Right, anyone can clearly see that but if you look at the image I posted the shells do look a but bulbous so I'm going to assume they went thought this idea would be great for the adult collectors line also.
The storage shell thing isn't even the biggest kill of this line right off the bat for me though.
It's the sheer size of the toy that way out of whack.
Playmates has never cared about scale though and if they really want people to see them as a company that means business in the collectors market it's something they really should have and need to take into consideration.
They need to look at other collectors lines such as dcuc and he-man classics.

Honestly, I think the guy made a mistake about the size. From the video, they don't look to be that tall and the MTV article said 6 inches.

WTF we go from a top secret showing for a lucky select few

to

months of anticipation

to

an overload of photos and videos. Way cool. I think Nick picking up the license has to be one of the best things to happen to the TMNT since Pete and Kevin first drew them. Hopefully Nick doesnt prove me wrong.

the last picture where we see Shredder Kraang and April is very small and we can not see them clear. Can someone post it in a higher resolution ?

Also, the Nick storage shell turtles seem to be the 10-11 inch ones he is talking about. Watch the guys hand in the video compared to the opening shell!

Yeah Vaughn, something tells me that those classic Tmnt are not that big. Ususally at a show the prototypes are bigger than the final product. Those on display don't even look to be over 7 inches. I'm pretty sure it was just a mix up in the video.

Dude, i agree.. which is why they need a devoted fan like yourself working with them. I'm gonna say with the chest articulation that they would be more than likely not storage.. if you notice on the actual storage figures they don't have that chest articulation. One thing i'm not liking about the Classics are the belts

Another complaint I have with the Classics line is Mike's Chucks. That chain is a bit too long and it looks a little goofy.

Exactly as I thought.

Whoop, edited my post. As it turns out, there are TWO versions of the Classics figures, the ToysRUs exclusive 10-11 inchers and the 6 inch versions that are sold everywhere else.

I'm a bit of a Johnny-Come-Lately on today's news, so I apologize if this video has already been posted and discussed in various Forum threads, but...

http://www.mtv.com/videos/interview/...tml#id=1678323

This video has me so excited! I'm gonna HAVE to buy these to increase the odds that they expand the Classic Line!

Yea, i'm not diggin' that either.. and as for my complaint about the belts not wrapping around and probably not being removable.. i'm wondering if it's because of the chest articulation..?

Soooooooo... the 10-11 inchers will have storage? Maybe they were just demonstrating on the giant ones from the new series? Well let's hope that the big ones won't have as much articulation.. we already know that it'll lack it in the chest.
