Edit:
My favourite Leo is the 2k3 version. He was calm, collected, an excellent warrior and had badass one liners.
My favourite Donnie is the Mirage comics version. He was very serious and didn't come off as a total nerd/geek in spite of his extraordinary intellect.
My favourite Mikey is the 2k3 version. Incredibly funny and also a fantastic fighter. Had some of the best lines in the entire show.
My favourite Raph is the '07 CGI movie version. His appearance and anger defined him to perfection.

The Nickelodeon TMNT seem very promising. The new Leo and Raph versions of the upcoming series have the potential to become my favourite versions of those 2 characters. Mikey and Donnie don't have a chance to dethrone their respective counterparts (2k3 and Mirage comics) from what I've seen.

I suppose that's what I get for taking a reaction from Mr. Turtle seriously. I would prefer colour matching, myself, but had I made the poll, I likely would have gone with my "go-to" order.

As for colour blindness, I would chalk it up to friendly teasing, but this is the second example I've seen of it.

All four turtles are awesome in their own way, and I have a huge soft spot for Mikey, but Raph has been my favourite since I was 3, and remains my favourite well over 20 years later. My bond with that character is wicked tight, no matter the version. From his design/fighting style, to his intense personality, to the deeper conflicts/insecurities he struggles with, to his relationships with each of his brothers (especially Donnie), I get it. So, Raph. 100%.

From what I gather (via my little cousins and their friends), Leo is clearly the most popular. I also hear that Raph was well liked. I'm not too positive on Donnie.

My cousin's favorite is Raphael, and ever since her son was born guess what Turtle she's been giving him toys of/buying the Ninja gear of? Raph. Just the other day when her son was asked "who is your favorite Turtle?" he replied Raphael. Although I have a sneaking suspicion he was influenced in other ways as well.

So yeah, perhaps the Leo-bias in your family is because of you, Icegaze. Have you ever influenced them, to your knowledge?

I know that when I have a son or daughter, he or she WILL like Donatello. (Okay, okay, I won't force him, but...he will be strongly influenced!)

Seriously though, I'm not in the position to really influence my little cousins or their friends for that matter. It's not like we have family TMNT group sessions or the like. It's just what I gather from discussion with a few of them. Leo seems to be up there in the general. I know Mikey and Raph are also very popular for the under 15 year olds. Donnie, however...

Also, my lil bro who is in his early 20s used to like Raphael ("used to" because he dropped TMNT at age 10 after he learnt of DBZ). My 2 older cousins used to like Leo and Donnie.

My first son might be named Leo (Lionel)

so he definitely would have NO choice but to LOVE Leonardo!
