The problem people are overlooking is no matter how bad the reviews are, this is still a major movie that will be seen by millions of casuals.

It isn't something we can sweep under the rug like the Next Mutation and Venus' character. Or something like April being a drawing in the comics that few people even know about. This is a major movie. Look at the way terrible movies like Batman & Robin are still remembered and made fun of nearly 20 years later.

The TMNT fandom will seriously never be able to live this down. It'll make the 3rd and 4th TMNT movies look like masterpieces in comparison.

Schrader needs scrapped, asap. Make him a new character (Or just replace him with Krang from the start) and save the real Shredder for the sequel. Perhaps I missed something but there needs to be a story behind how Splinter learned Ninjustsu. They could easily save that for a sequel, and have Hamato Yoshi, Oroku Saki, the real Foot Clan and all that good stuff.

I actually really like the idea of April being a small town girl who's not from NY, but I hate that for Casey, he's a life long New Yorker. His character was so Sam Witwicky.

The color headband scene would be way cooler if they were all red, Casey tries to give them new one's and Raph basically says "F*** you, I'm keeping mine". Don't know how they missed that one.

I don't like them being 17. Total nitpick, I know, but each new universe should start the turtles at 13-15.

That orb stuff was retarded, and the name "Dimension X" is just so corny. I understand the use of Krang, Bebop, Rocksteady and the Technodrome, but you can draw the line there.

I thought the exact same thing there. It fits with Raph's attitude up to that point quite well.

One thing that bothers me is that The Shredder, arguably one of the most iconic cartoon/comic villains of the past couple of decades is almost unrecognizable, while Bebop and Rocksteady are literally EXACTLY the same as how they appeared in OT.

This post is full of spoilers, if that's a warning you have to give when talking about a maybe-not-real probably-early script for a movie that is in development hell.

Just read that whole thing. There are quite a few really, really stupid parts. But I dunno, maybe half or so of this makes for a kinda-ok movie, I guess? Even the dimension X stuff is potentially interesting if executed well. If they go with this I'd guess it'll be shittier than 2007 but potentially better than the third movie. Nerdy nitpicking time:

But boy were there a lot of really terrible scenes in there sprinkled around. And yeah that Shredder is pretty lame, and of course it has a no-one-will-ever-care military hero inserted. The use of their shells in combat situations is a decent idea, but holy crap do they ever over-use it. I was thinking pinball in my head already, and then the script used "pinballs" as a verb. Krang had so few lines that he may as well have never talked, or spoken only in an alien language. At least they got to kill him, anyway.

Casey seems like he's supposed to be the main character, but he's pretty much shoved into his situation so he can be a plot device. He lives far away now because they want to have them traveling on the road, but it only takes them like two scenes to get to NY anyway. He has to be young because April is young (so she can be an intern), yet his mom is on his case to move out and grow up already as if he's pushing 30. And somehow his hockey is for kids too even though the rest of his team is apparently in their 40s.

How can they even build the Technodrome if they don't have power? And how does it somehow consume power drastically faster than it takes it in? Why the hell does Don tether a laptop when he could have just used the ipad to do his search? Apparently their internet has "santioned URLs" and "underground blogposts" results. Three ipads and an iphone in the movie (and a terrible angry birds thing). Why would turtle people from dimension X name their kids after people from Earth? Perhaps they could have worked in some line about the Renaissance being the last time the worlds connected or something. Why the hell would the turtle guy call them "rockstar"? Movie nearly ends on a "smoking hot turtle chick".

And Bebop should really be the one with the gold deagles, c'mon now.

My biggest problem with Shredder is how he's finished off, or captured. The main villain becomes Krang, taking away from the awesome Turtles v. Shredder bout that might have been somewhat of a redeeming quality.

It's mostly all rubbish. Do they think us older fans are just going to eat this sh*t up just because they throw in a few curse words? "Those older fans will be so pleased, a vulgar TMNT just like they always wanted!"

This is what happens when you get people unfamiliar with the franchise involved. Look at Freddy vs Jason. It was directed by someone who knew nothing about either franchise and it was a horrible movie. Sadly, it was what New Line wanted.

James Cameron was working on a script for Alien 5 that involved Arnold Schwarzenegger. It was what everyone wanted. The moment he found out that Alien vs Predator was being made, he trashed up the script and got majorly pissed. He said it ruined the validity of the franchise.

JJ Abrams rebooted Star Trek which I actually thought was good despite being a Trekkie. It made Star Trek popular again but it pissed off alot of people.

The thing is, you can't honestly expect them to hire big fans of the franchise because that would be awful.

Also it would never get made because it would be a clusterf*ck to write. Its best to get someone with decent credentials and a general understanding of the thing.

You get fans involved and you get a movie that is inaccessible to other people.

Wait, what was so wrong about Freddy Vs. Jason? Had stupid teens, sex and all kinds of violence. What did you expect out of that movie? Shakespere?

Should we spread the script around other forums and movie sites? Maybe if we do and they don't like that their script is out there a year before it comes out they would try to change it, or at least rewrite the bad parts.
