I like it better for Don than Raph, since the brains becoming a mindless brute is more tragic than the occasionally mindless brute becoming a slightly more mindless brute.

And it was two and a half episodes, compared to a major chunk of a volume.

Just so you know, there will be kids who will look back on the 4Kids cartoon and think it was awful too. Frankly, I wouldnt blame 'em.

I'll take the classic series and it's nice, compact wholesome storytelling and lovable characters over the grim-as-grit comics and movies anyday. TMNT has always worked much better as a complete farce.
You know, both sides of that argument sucks...

It's true, that just because you liked it once doesn't mean it's bad. But heaven forbid that your taste in shows change. I use to love the old TMNT show as a kid, though I admit I was born in the last half of it's run and I mostly grew up on the three movies; but my taste has changed and the old show doesn't entertain me (still haven't picked up my season 2 dvd in a few weeks)

Though I also hate people that say "Shows from my childhood are the smexiness, and everything today sucks!" For one that's all on opinion, and two most of the people that talk about that is only speaking from Nostalgia and only remember the good part. it irks me like it does with pokemon fans.

Can't people just enjoy whatever the hell they like? sure, I may not enjoy the 87 series as much as say you *and that list in my signature is old, and in no way reflects my taste on the old show* but I really don't care.

The way with Ninja Turtles is the way I see shows like: Ultraman, Kamen Rider, Super Sentai, Digimon, and Precure - you may not like one iteration of the show, but there may be just a version out there that fits your taste.

and just me being picky cause I picked up the awesome 90's trilogy movies it's Gamera (better than most Godzilla movies I've seen), and I'm sure someone had already corrected you

Now as for the whole having Rocksteady and Bebop in the movie... I'd prefer if they stayed in the 87 cartoon, that was their place. It's like just keeping Hun in the 03, Dogpound fishface in 2012, Tokka Razah in the movies... every one has a place, and a place has everyone it needs

like now, I'm kind of sick of Krang, he is in the IDW series and the Nick cartoon... he just doesn't seem all that special anymore as he did in the 87 show

It's kinda sad when you realize that the writers of the Nick cartoon and the IDW comic can up with better storylines than the writers of a major theatrical movie.

Oh well, 1 out of 3 "bombs" isn't too bad.

With Applebaum and Nemec, I think this first draft suffered a lot from the fact that they know almost nothing about Ninja Turtles as a franchise. Now that Liebesman and Eastman are more involved, I expect to see something better.

That being said, it was still an awful script and I'm confident that they are not the right guys for the job. I'm very curious to see what Fusco and the Iron-Man guys had turned in.

If Applebaum and Nemec weren't the authors than why were their names on it?

According to Eastman, who I heard speak at D*C this past weekend, if there are F-Bombs in the script than the one you're reading isn't real.

I gotta agree with Stryker about Vol. 4. It was not the worst thing I've ever seen associated with TMNT - not the worst at all - but it WAS the single most boring. Part of why I'm just fine with people taking liberties with the source material of TMNT is because the simple truth is, not a lot of what the guys who started it has done on their own has been very good. Some of it has been great, some of it just felt forced.

I don't agree TMNT works at its best as a "complete farce", but I think it's lasted longer and done better as more people have tinkered with and added to the formula.

Vol. 4 was only boring by its format, not the individual stories. The mistake was giving each Turtles their own plotlines, plus 2-3 other plotlines for April and Casey, and trying to do them all in one book. So each story only progressed by about 4 pages an issue, rather than giving each one separate time.

I guarantee that when/if IDW collects Volume 4 and people can sit down and read it all in one sitting, they'll enjoy it much more.

I'm going to have to be a white knight and defend vol 4. It starts off on the moon for goodness sake.

In other comics a lot of their future is romanticized/unexplained, but I feel like this gives a bit more substance to it.
