Listen, in the old movies, there are REAL people doing REAL martial arts/stunts/action. They aren't usually hurting each other but they make the illusion they are. Of course that's what a movie is about, making an illusion. You can SEE with your own eyes people doing the moves, so in your imagination you have no reason to believe it isn't actually happening. In a cartoon, where no one is actually doing anything, it works if you need to move the story along but to showcase martial arts or skateboarding skill, it makes no sense. It's like "Why am I supposed to be impressed by some guys skills with a mouse and a computer??"

Maybe because, in the time-honored tradition of ANIMATION, regardless of whether it's pen and paper or click the mouse-- the animators not only studied art, they studied LIFE!

Your argument is similar to those who blow off voice actors as not being "real" actors-- and that is forgetting that radio was the first really mass medium around.

And why am I wasting time with you? You remind me of a certain Australian that I became rather fond of in a weird way-- and at that I will end this post.

And I definatly pointed out where the "family friendly" are concerned, that Casey was definatly sleeping on the couch, and was obviously not around when April got dressed in her Ninja outfit.

yeah it was even worse in the paper back novel I'm glad it didn't show how mean april was to him in the movie because the story in the book really ticked me off over Aprils actions towards Casey.

very true I told my grandmother today it's safe to take the kids to see my uncle and his wife are very strict chrisitians and and keep their children away from allot of things.
But I told them the movie teaches very good moral values as well as family ones about being a good family and obeying your father.

Agreed. April acted as the professional when it came to buisness, but that excellent line when Casey joins Raph on the rooftop shows he really still has her on edge. She seems more concerned with living up to HIS specialty of street vigilantism, to be his equal.

Actually, I really think that they ALL felt "comfortable"-- you could tell that they'd been friends/family for a long time, not just April and Casey in their "settling down" situation, but the Turtles with them-- though Mike seemed rather "surprised" by the apt.-- but that may have been the fact that they'd not been around much due to all their new ventures.

Still-- turtles and humans (meaning Casey and April) definitely felt as if they were truly OLD friends/family.

Yeah I'm glad they toned it down there, too. She came off as a real, well, witch with a capital 'B' in the book--And I like April too much to watch her acting like that. Oh but did you catch the pout she made while talking to Casey on the phone?! It was...wierd to me. I can't explain it.

Your argument is like one of those people who like to compare one argument with a completely unrelated argument so as to make that person look like he's one of those people too. Yah? hahaa
I never said anything about voice actors not being real actors, so that has nothing to do with this.

I think that what Splinter's Iroonna's said was probably spot on. I mean, even though Mike did seem a little suprised by the apt, April's talk with Leo in the jungle certainly alluded to the fact that they were all still hanging out.

2. Welcome to Turtletown, with your host, Michelangelo! We follow Mikey from his job, down the streets, down a neglected alley, into a camoflaged garage, down a manhole, down a ladder, down... and down... and down... and we get a feel for how far deep into hiding the turtles are. And that is, really far! The route is impossibly labyrinthine. The front door is hidden. Mikey's home is literally a deep, dark secret.

3. Honey, we're home! Eh... honey? Anyone? Bueller? Oops... Mikey's manic rush has come to a dead end in disappointment. And that's the point: we've witnessed Mikey descend into a lonely place. It's practially a visual metaphor for a spiral into depression, and Mike's the perfect guide. Mr. Party Dude ends up watching a business report.

Oh wait, I didn't include the part where they're trying to impress the audience with Mikey's skateboard tricks. That's because I couldn't figure out how it fits. It was kinda incidental to the main point.

And even if you disagree, this post was still fun to write. I loved the skateboard scene!

I certainly did not like how they made it seem like Casey was a slave to April. Or like one of those guys that's so in love with a woman they'll do anything for them even if they treat them like a dog. Certainly not the same relationship as in TMNT1

lordy me also I'm glad I wasn't the only one to notice that in the book..I worried about it the whole time till I saw the movie. I'm sooo glad it didn't go that way.
And I believe it was odd because we hardly ever see April acting typical "Girly" in anything and that for sure was a ugh my man drives me crazy moment lol.

whats this could it be we dissagree for the first time ever...that scene is everything I've really ever hated about computer animated movies that makes them seen like cartoons from the 1920's where they dance around and act all show offish looky here by golly we made us a movin' picture movie!
The Garefield movie really does this to me as well as the one coming out the bee movie...they really need to stop with this and just get back to making movies. TMNT was a good example of what to do correctly.

Yes but that could elude that Leo has been gone a very long time.
I'm sure we will see just exactly how long he's been away with the prequel comics...and as you can see in the movie alone they hadn;t been around april or casey at all for some time excluding Aprils contact with Leo in the jungle.

I loved the short little scenes bewteen April and Casey, plus it was nice to finally see some progression in there relation ship like Kunoichi_Haruko had said.

They didn't have much of a relationship in the first movie though..and it's been years since that anything could have happend between them.
I just wonder what exactly is being used from the past and whats not exactly a list of things on the official site or in the comic book from peter laird would be nice.

Aha! That's exactly it! She went, like, Snotty Valley Girl on us in .2 seconds right there! Rolling her eyes and shaking her head, I expected. The pout? A little OOC, but that's just my opinion. Lucky for me, that was the only one she had.
And speaking of April...SMG did very well with her delivery on most of her lines. At first I thought she'd be pausing like crazy, but she didn't. Yay SMG!

I'm intrigued as to how many "official" years have past since TMNT 3 (or the original film, depending on this film's continuity.) Everyone has definitely drifted apart, so I'm assuming a good chunk of time has gone by...But the Turtles are still Teenaged, so who knows?

I agree she was great as April especially as some one I didn't think could ever pull it off.
