its about what superheroes ARE actually..and what tmnt are NOT...
super heroes go out patrolling the city because they have sworn to themselves for whatever reason to PROTECT the city they are living in.so, it is a very basic dichotomy created right from that point on: superhero=good.Evildoers=bad. the turtles however are misscreations, brought to life(bipedal life at least) by an accident.they are outsiders, living in the shadows in the exclusion of all else. they are merely falling into situations in which they make decisions based on what they think is fair(different than to have sworn to protect 'fair citizens'...) I think the turtles are so much more interesting also because they seem to strive for balance, for enlightenment and matters of this nature.you know, stuff that is actually worth something... |

Two of them became a Superheroes of sorts, If I recall Mikey for a while became Turtle Titan, and I believe Raph went around as the Nightwatcher, That seems superhero esqued enough for me.

I like the other choices. Eastwood could be a wild choice. He's made some great films, and some less so. I don't care what anyone says, Cameron makes fantastic fantasy films. He'd never do it, but if he did, you can bet he'd get them looking real. Yeah, but you see what you did there? You had to find a specific story line where they were turned into superheroes. Ergo, they were not superheroes from the beginning. |

the TMNT have also faced many villains from normal to super human to other worldly, imortal, extra terrestrial, super being, mythical, the list goes one and have always relied on the skills they have to handle them not super powers
sure the ooze made them little above average but this batman not Superman

Alfonso Cuaron f*cked up the third HP movie. No way I want him to direct TMNT.

I want him & Michael Keaton to reunite and do The Dark Knight Returns but in my mind a Tim Burton TMNT would just wind up like his Planet Of The Apes.

I think we've all had enough of The Dark Knight Returns, thank you very much.
Single most overrated Batman story ever made. Although, Tim Burton is the single most overrated filmmaker in the history of the universe, so maybe that would fit like a glove. Seriously. If we HAVE to lick Frank Miller's nuts, then at least lick 'em over Year One, which was actually good. Going solely by DKR, it's amazing Batman has any time to think since he's constantly goddamn talking to himself. In the most overblown, pompous, self-aggrandizing manner possible. You half expect him to say, with complete earnestness, some stupid sh*t like... "I drink of their fear... and it is delicious. I paint a masterpiece with their blood as a child would with finger paints. Their bones breaking is my symphony, their screams, their Terror, my Magnum Opus. And when my War is over, and I again retreat to the darkness... The Cave... I am at peace... for I know the time will soon be at hand... for me to finally void my bowels in peace... for the 7-11 rest room at 3am is no place for a Creature of the Night to defecate. The war continues, but this time... it is between my strength of will, and that burrito I had at 7:30. I AM THE NIGHT!!!" Seriously. Corniest sh*t EVER. |

What's wrong with talking to yourself? I do it. Oh wait...I guess that confirms everything that's wrong with talking to oneself.
Carry on. |

Do you do it LIKE THAT?!
Seriously, the entire book is that self-aggrandizing bullsh*t. Like, "As soon as I'm done with The Joker, and I get Superman off my ass, I'm just gonna go ahead and Punch God In The Face, because I'M BATMAN." Seriously, I LOVE Batman. That book makes me hate the motherf***er. |

I borrowed a copy of the book from the library in summer '12. I enjoyed it, but there was a LOT of text. I don't mind that really, but I only want to be reading THAT much text in a book, not a comic book or graphic novel.
It's a shame that Frank Miller wrote that and some of Daredevil. I really hate to praise the man. Sin City was good as well but pretty overrated. |

Anybody who can't see how overblown and frankly Bad that book is, is seriously kidding themselves. It's All Hype. I never DIDN'T sh*t on it. It's average at best. What makes it Terrible, is that people swear it's the Best Batman Story Ever when it's SO not even close. I could give you a half dozen O'Neil/Adams Batman stories that make it look like the crudely drawn, over-blown, needlessly drawn-out trash it really is. The entire thing insists upon itself and its own brilliance. It's SO masturbatory. I don't know why more people can't see that.
Year One was better. Mostly because the story gets to the goddamn point and doesn't jack itself off over how "bad-ass" it is. I never read his Daredevil work but I heard that was good. But I've read a lot of his other stuff. He's... he's Not Good. I think Frank Miller's entire body of work speaks for itself at this point. One or two pieces of work aside, he's an idiot, and a hack, and just because he ushered in the "Grim N Gritty" 80s doesn't mean he's actually good at Anything At All. His stuff just sucks. I mean, some of Sin City was pretty good. Even THAT is a ton better than DKR. And there are a ton of writers/artists who can do his exact same gimmick a ton better than he can. |
