Am I the only one who finds this love thing between Raph and Mona Lisa unappropriate? Who finds Mona Lisa herself disgusting?
Really, Raph is some kind of a pervert now to fall for such a strange creature?
I mean, turtles seem to love human girls. Because they are very anthropomorphic, more humans then turtles actually. And now appears this Neutralizer in a helmet, and it's supposed to be attrective to Raph as a girl?
Judging by the silence after Brandon's words about her and Raph, more people feel the same.

I think most people here will disagree with you about the relationship being inappropriate, but you are entitled to your own opinion. There are quite a few people around here however that dislike Mona Lisa because the female characters are all love interests and they didn't want another romance.

You will also find many who despise the turtles having romantic relationships with human girls... Me? I don't really care as long as the plot is good. Welcome to the form!

Because he's got so many choices romantically, you know... And MAYBE Raph isn't so shallow as to go by looks alone, like some people in their first post here. *glare* Plus, he might fall for her because she's an excellent fighter, or appeals to him as a good conversationalist, or somoene who he can relate to. OR, she's sweet on him, and he doesn't return her advances.

Plus, extra-dimensional love affair... talk about your long-distance relationships... that can't possibly go well.

What's strange about an anthropomorphic lizard having a relationship with an anthropomorphic turtle?

TBH, I'm sick of this show introducing female characters just to be love interests for the guys, but regardless, no, I don't find Mona Lisa disgusting and I'm glad they haven't given her breasts or hair or eyelashes or any other feminized nonsense to show that "she is teh girl". Raph is a non-human and there's absolutely nothing to say that he has the same beauty standards as humans do. How is it perverted for a mutated turtle to love a female from another species, but it's ok if the other species just happens to be human?

As far as being more human than turtle - I don't know many humans with shells, plastrons, green skin, three-toed feet, three-fingered hands. Maybe I've just been hanging out with the wrong crowd though.

By saying Mona Lisa is disgusting I didn't mean boobs or lashes. She just looks too Neutralizer-like.
In my opinion turtles are more humans than animals. Why? Big list of reasons, but the strongest is their ability to fall in love. Mona Lisa is just big and standing on her two. That's all she's got from human.

Since three of them (including Mikey and Renet) like human girls, it was expected Raph to do the same.

I'm not a hater though, no need to be rude and call me shallow. We're here to share our opinions, no?

There is love in nature, you know. It's not inherently human. The TMNT may be like people behaviorally, but I think their instincts are very much animal-like. The other turtles had only been exposed to human females, had they met a mutant of the opposite sex, they may very well have had feelings for her, as the case is to be with Raphael.

Newtralizer was able to communicate with Spike and everything....I'm sure Mono Lisa, since she is from the same alien race will be able to communicate with the turtles just fine. (she is the same alien right?)

hope she won't do that Racka Racka thing though....that was annoying.

even so...I still wish they didn't introduce another girl....just for her to end up being a love interest....at least Raph is the last turtle....now if they introduce another girl she won't be a crush!.....if they introduce another girl.

I am getting SO sick of people complaining about the "Love interest" thing. I know this show doesn't do that good of a job portraying romance, but maybe we'll be getting some new writers for this season and maybe they can handle it better than the Apritello/Leorai thing.

Allow me to explain. I know people feel romance and love interests ruin female characters, but that doesn't mean it's always a bad thing. It also doesn't mean that it's their sole purpose. Yes, April is the object of Donnie's affections, but there were plenty of times where that wasn't addressed all that much. There were times when she had to fight on her own or dealt with the loss of her father or her powers. People just choose of focus on her and Donnie because that makes for an easier target for people to complain about. Same goes for Karai: She wasn't just Leo's crush, but the whole tie in with Shredder and Splinter and her mother. I think people are making the "love interests" bigger than it really is. Yeah, I can see how you'd get annoyed, but I don't whine about it as much as you do and just overlook it.

Remember how we always complained how Raph wasn't getting much attention and focus and how they rehashed his "Temper plot line" too much? Or how his character wasn't developing fast enough? Has it occurred to anyone that maybe falling in love with someone might HELP with that character development?!?! Romance and love has been a staple for characters for centuries! "Romeo & Juliet", "Pride & Prejudice," even "Count of Monte Cristo" and "Phantom of the Opera" (remember, that was a book before a play). Romance can lead to tons of drama and character development. Sometimes, it's necessary!

If they do Mona Lisa right, I can see her being the sort of calm for Raph's storm. They don't have to make out every five seconds, but it can show another side of him. And I have a feeling she'll be in the show quite a bit. I have this head cannon that she joins the Turtles and the Fugitoid on their journey in space. This would also be a nice tie in to Doctor Who since the Doctor always had a companion (preferably a female companion) that helped him with lots of problems and situations (Donna Noble is probably the best example of this).

As for her looking "too ugly to be Raph's girlfriend," I felt the same about Karai when I first saw that promo pic in Entertainment Weekly or whatever it was from. She was facing against Leo and the other three were in the back. Her face looked like one of those Monkeys from "Planet of the Apes" and I'm not the only one who thought that. Once we saw her in action, I thought she looked really good. The pics we have of her aren't that clear and the concept art wasn't in CGI, so it's hard to use that as a ref. Maybe when she's fully animated and functional, we can see her be more appealing of a character.

It'll also be a good way to show beauty without the superficial "necessities", like hair, makeup, and a good bust. I thought she looked cute, so I'm excited to see her in action.

I apologize for sounding like a whiner or even a troll, but if you guys can post what you think of her and other love interests, then so can I. Sure, I'll get contradicted with every sentence I posted, but I don't care. I'm super excited about season 4 and I have a good feeling Mona Lisa will be way more than a "Mary Sue." And if she is, hey, at least we brought back my favorite character.

He SORT of was. When he first meets Karai and she removes her visor, we get a closeup on his face of him and he looks like "Wow. She is REALLY pretty." Then she tries to kill him and it kinda killed the mood.

I hate to interupt the discussion, but I think I have an idea. We all now know that Mona lisa will make her appearance in the show, and we know that the Newtralizer might come back, because he came back surging with Energy in the "Newtralized" episode. Well, what if the Newtralizer really comes back with Mona lisa as a new partner ? After all, they are of the same race.

I know Mona lisa might not be evil. So, that is why I am saying she might turn on the Newtralizer.

She already has a voice actor: Zelda Williams. They announced this at this year's Comic Con.
