ThunDerian's TMNT collection

[ThunDerian]

Hi guys! I'm new to the forum. I've been looking at all the amazing collections and thought I'd share my modest TMNT collection too I'm a casual TMNT collector. I pick up certain items for nostalgic reasons or just because they look cool. I'm not a completionist by any means. Anyhoo, here goes!

I had the Toddler Turtles set and got Splinter just to display like this:

Toddler Turtle test-shot:

10" Nickelodeon TMNT Battle Shell Raphael test-shot:

And because I like Raphael so much, my wife got me this great talking Raph!

More to come!

[ThunDerian]

Saw this ex-rental VHS for sale at a local store a few years back and I had to have it. It's the same as the VHS I rented on my 8th birtday party 24 years ago! Oh the memories

Added this to one my modest Raphael collection:

Raph the Barbarian Testshot

Fast Forward Dark Raph test shot

And I've been working on a sewer lair and couldnt resist:

I'm gonna print this "photo", make a little frame for it and stick it on the wall in the lair. I have a thread in the 'Custom' section where I post updates to the sewer set I'm building.

That is absolutely genius! That will look awesome.

This is a test shot? It looks like the normal Playmates quality to me.

Hi ThunDerian

Those look a lot like modified figures - either repainted or re-done from some state of Ijustdon'tknow. Looking forward to get some insight on what we are dealing with here. Like a lot how they look

Well, these are factory testshots. Meaning the factory tests the molds to see if they function properly. They use whatever plastic that is in the machines at that time, hence the strange colors on some of em. The resulting figures are called testshots.

How do you come across stuff like that? Pretty cool stuff.

LOVE the family photo for the lair. So awesome

eBay mostly. There are a bunch of em up for sale, but the trick is to find the good ones. There are usually a lot of the same, I always wait for the less common figures to pop up.

Thanks! I'm working on a little frame for it right now. I'll post it in my customs thread when done!

This is a testshot of the Sloth Monster from the TMNT movie line
