eBay Bidders Beware (TMNT #1)

There is a seller with 0 feedback selling four copies of TMNT #1, what he claims to be first prints. Possible? I guess. Likely? Not really. He's using the same picture for all four auctions and it's not even a very good picture. I've emailed him asking for a more detailed discription of it, but haven't recieved a reply yet. Naturally, the prices on each one are going rather high. What's additionally odd is that the same person has the high bid in all four auctions.

Auction #1
Auction #2
Auction #3
Auction #4

Just letting you guys know so nobody gets burned.

Is issue one really worth that much? The one at my comic shop is only 25 bucks....I guess I should pick it up....

its hard to say if they are fake or not, I wouldn't take a chance the person can't even spell "singed by eastman and laird" Whats up with that

And the same buyer has bid on all of them.....Driving the price up? Looks like it....somebody should report this to ebay, or atleast notify some of the other bidders.....

Definitly looks like a scam. I'd never buy anything from someone with 0 feedback.

Yep... Very fishy. I bet they're counterfeit copies of number one.

I think it is scam.....the first printing is very rare but I doubt that one person has 4 copies of it.

also, one of the person's auctions is for the second issue, however, the auction has a picture of issue #1, which everyone is questioning about. See for yourself.

i dont like it. no way id pay first. id email him (if i were intersted in it, which im not) and ask if hed send first to someone with good feedback due to amount of money involved. if he says no, and you have a nice number of good feedbacks with very little if any negs, then i wouldnt trust him at all.

Actually, they're not very common. I've never seen one myself. It's too bad these look like a scam, 'cause I might be willing to pay up to $10 for one.

Well the first books were printed Larger than regular comic books. I have never seen those so I'm not sure if the empty space is supposed to be there.

Right and the extra space there is on legit copies. The most common printing of #1 would seem to be the third printing, which on the surface looks nearly identicle to a first printing. It was also from the third printing that the counterfeits were made. My guess is that it's one of those two, a third printing or a counterfeit.
