He left because he didn't like the idea of people comparing the Nick show with the 4kids series.
I've always gotten the feeling that the people who work at Nick don't like the 4kids series very much. Even Greg Cripes said in an interview that he didn't bother following the, "2000 show" as he put it, because he didn't think it was very good. |

That is rather strange, because this new Mikey is a lot more like the 4Kids than Fred Wolf version, but that might just be the writing.
Overall, I can't say I see the new show displaying a lot of hate for 4Kids. Back when that show was new, people always used to talk about Peter Laird's distaste for the Fred Wolf show, but this series isn't going out of its way to feel different from its predecessor in the way the 4Kids show did. The new April looks more like 4Kids; same with Shredder, and Nick's Leatherhead is, in my opinion, too similar to his 4Kids counterpart, to the point the episode was predictable. So if the creators here are ignoring 4Kids' version, they sure have substantial knowledge of Mirage's.

She's sixteen in the show. That was confirmed a while back.

Haven't watched the show but maybe she was a turtle that mutated into a normal human and has been eating those cookies from the old cartoon to maintain a stable mutation, but isn't told about it just fed the chemical in her food.
One day it wears off and she is the stay at home mom for the turtles after a lengthy mental treatment after finding out she has been a semi-mutated turtle the whole time. |

I hope it doesn't happen in the show, but man what a great story that could be! |

Hopefully she doesn't keep her hair that would be weird.
Did Venus have hair I forgot, it wouldn't be bad if she turned out to be Mona Lisa either, as long as it isn't Venus de Milo. |

April trying her hand as a superhero could be a good episode though.

I kinda wonder if characters like Nobody and Renet will ever appear on this show?

My non scientific prediction
Splinter trains April. Kirby exploited by the shredder and the foot makes significant headway on the mutagen ooze. April and co attempt to rescue her father. And something happens to him, probably mutation possibly death. This drives April in her training as she is accepted as family instead of as a friend. Teenage hormones propel the love arc with Donnie. Little did she know that before her fathers death he squirreled away a sample of refined ooze before tainting every other batch and destroying his notes and formula. April comes into contact and is given some sort of power. Probably not detectable physically, but more of an enhancement. The love story will deepen and conflict of love and family is tested. If her father was mutated he will be lured to the dark side but will stay in the half shell while April and fam try to rescue him and reverse the effects. He will die shortly after at the hands of April, his beloved daughter. This will weigh on her heavily as she has been being tormented in her mind from her own mutation. Her grief will guide her to not only killing the shredder, but also replacing him. She will grow to despise all mutations. And seek their destruction. |

But at least Renet and Nobody appeared outside the comics. I'm not holding out hope for Gabrielle and Shadow.

Yeah, he said he was. They pretty much copied the rooftop fight from the first issue in the Gauntlet, and they used Letherhead's Mirage origin. We already got the Purple Dragons, and we are getting Karai soon. Plus they hinted that the Fugitoid might show up next year.

They're not really popular though. They only appeared in 4kids because of PL.
