TMNT is NOT the most publicly captivating, zeitgeist capturing franchise that exists right now.
it's wallowed in relative mediocrity for over a decade and a half. this is NOT paramounts #1 tent-pole movie for 2014. they're NOT going to cast "name-stars" at all. them casting megan fox and releasing that info as though it was ground-breaking and industry-shattering should be proof enough of that. hell, even if it were a huge deal, they still wouldnt cast "name-stars" as they're going to be covered up by all that cg. makes the fact that, by your own words, there should be a payoff for that, moot.
that being said, THIS IS HOW THESE MOVIES ARE MADE. (again) doesn't matter that this guy's a no-name, the "trouble" they're going through would have to be gone through no matter who they cast.

I'm sorry. I just don't think casting a guy who is the size of his character is so crazy. I'm not going to assume they cast a 6'3" no-name,
just cause, with the intention of cleaning it up later. They could've cast a 5'3" no-name. And acting like CG is CG, and adjusting for a height difference is no extra trouble is just silly.
If the next turtle they cast is 6' tall and built like a football player, we'll know what's up.
