Here's my question though.

from the point of view of the OT turtles.. will this then be in the same continuity as "Turtles for-ever." ?

Will they arrive and say. "Oh this again, another alternative univers, wonder what it's like this time around!"

Mostly though I would like OT Shredder to arrive at this place again and go. "For god's sake, is EVERY other Shredder more hardcore than I am? And are they ALL claiming to be the one and only Shredder? Life is so unfair :,( "

I grew up with the OT turtles in the 80s/early 90s so I think I have a right to this opinion: Let the OT turtles rest, stop bringing them back.
My opinion is similar to yours Zulithe! As much as I enjoy the OT, it's a little awkward to have them in the 2nd season already. (I thought at most there would be an OT Turtles cameo visit later on or near the end of the Nick series.) But I'm more indecisively indifferent about the OT Turtles and Mutagen Man appearing in Nick, because I have to see how seamlessly the OT Turtles do fit in the Nick storytelling series as the article has stated. It's going to be one remarkable feat if the writers can pull it off without having a forced OT nostalgia feeling that doesn't overshadow the Nick series, and even more impressive is if they can work the episode into the OT show's storyline (considering both the OT series and in "Turtles Forever"). (If it's done well, then I wouldn't mind the very rare occasion of the OT Turtles returning again after this cameo visit.)

But on the other hand, I feel the OT Turtles cameo appearance in Nick was somewhat warranted after "Turtles Forever" did a horrendous job of representing them, and by not including the Fred Wolf staff (I believe it was because of labor/union disputes), or at least getting their opinions for such a multiverse inclusive TMNT project.

With so much discussion on these forums and other internet sites of wanting to introduce Mona Lisa, Irma, the Technodrome, having Kraang Prime similar to OT Krang, and Dimension X, I kind of worry that the Nick show may be perceived by others as a derivative copy of the OT if there are too many OT elements. Currently, I don't necessarily think of the Nick series like this, but its tempting to ponder over.

It's definitely a tricky balance for the Nick show writers to have the Nick series have their own identity/interpretation when you already have so many reinterpretations of TMNT (cartoons, movies and comics) to respectfully give references to, but at the same time having a proper distance from them so the show is not like those past interpretations.

here you go:
http://forums.thetechnodrome.com/forumdisplay.php?f=19

we have a own section for role-playing.

We have had members doing that schtick before and it wasn't cute nor funny the first time either (looking especially at you BS19), it is annoying.

And at least spell properly when trying to role-play, you're writing Shredder like he was a 40's stereotype. Spell-check program exists for a reason.

Maybe it won't even be an official "crossover" in which the two universes come together. Maybe MutagenMan will shapeshift into something that looks and sounds like the 80's version of the Turtles. Or the 2012 Turtles will have some sort of hallucination...

I'm very excited for Mutagen Man!
I think it would be cool if it happens to be Baxter but I'm going to say the people that say it's going to be Kirby are probably correct.

Mutagen man?!?! Yespls!!! So this is the old school mutant the writer talked about.

I admit the 80s episode of the guy is average, but I really like his shape shifting ability... here's for hoping he had floating decapitated human parts in the jar.

I'm gonna smile when Clarke and Coleman and Gordon is voicing in a TMNT episode. Good times.

The Season 5 ep of Mutagen Man was one of the best episodes of that season, and funny too.

And again, as I said before... they had slapstick fighting methods (your ragdoll references of season 7), but I never once seen them in the OT behave and act so stupid and cowardice like Turtles Forever did. Like I said, 4Kids' writers "Flanderized" the OT Turtles. Just like 2K3 Raph said, "It's like having 5 Mikeys." (2K3 Mikey + OT Turtles)
The earlier post on this thread that I was responding to was about you casting negetive aspersions on the intentions of the 4Kids creative staff of why they did homages to the Fred Wolf show. I pointed out there's actual evidence that suggests that far from meaning to be snide or to make their version cooler in comparison - they did it because they knew fans of the old show liked it.

Talking about Turtles Forever specificaly I think the effort that went into animating the Fred Wolf characters and world is a rather telling of their intentions. When the special was first announced people expected only minor design differences to differentiate the two but 4Kids went all out. They even took obscure things that only a die hard would remember like the other punks from the first season or the Technodrome's cockpit and the phone booth elevator and recreated them in exact detail right down to the trash in the dumpsters. Are you really saying they went to all that trouble simply to trash them?

It went far beyond the animation though. A lot of the fun as a fan of the Fred Wolf show should have been stuff like...hearing Donatello say "let's stay in touch" and thinking; hey that's from 'Return of The Shredder" or hearing Raph say "we resemble that remark" and thinking that was a callback to 'Raphael Knocks 'em Dead" or seeing Bebop use the Scent Analyser from 'Beware The Lotus' or Donatello using a wrench as a hammer like he did 'Leonardo Lightens Up'

They really must have scoured through the old show for stuff like that which again makes it unlikely they would go to that much effort if they meant to make them look bad. It also seems to put a dent in the argument they were inaccurately represented. For years I've heard detractors say "OT Leo wouldn't say this" or "OT Don wouldn't do that" about stuff that was ripped directly from the Fred Wolf show.

And that cowardice strikes a blow against the whole foundation of what Ninja Turtles are supposed to be....brave in the face of danger, right? I'm just sayin'...
Kind of like how brave Leonardo is in 'Snakes Alive'

And after all that, they still made the OT turtles into cowardly goofballs.

That is what they did.

They did that.

Nope. As I pointed out the writers of the Fred Wolf show did that.
