That was just hilarious. (And is it weird that I still remember that goofy jingle??!!)
I thought Sherlock Holmes had been a real person when watching "Elementary, My Dear Turtle".

I don't think the formula was perfected. They use anti-mutagen in the other episode, "Michaelangelo's birthday" but it turned the Turtles into balloon-sized floats instead.

Yeah, I don't think Krang EVER perfected it- every time they used it, it did something different- just like the mutagen in the swamp water turned Shredder into a toddler. For a genius scientist, Krang really wasn't very good at chemistry....

I disagree about Usagi here. If anything, he was depicted as a character being tossed into a world with things that would definitely be unknown to him. Different era, dimension, and time period. IIRC, his dimension was set I Feudal Era Japan.

I just assumed that Krang was able to perfect it when he was at Dimension X, but that the Dimension X mutagen was highly unstable under the conditions on Earth.

Agree. He's kind of a lost soul in the modern city, and I like him. He's in his environment in 2k3, very confident which I like very much.

The mutagen itself was certainly stable enough- although the Red-Sky seasons hint that perhaps it had unforeseen side-effects- but the anti-mutagen certainly wasn't. It had different effects every time it was used. How it could turn Mikey human in one episode, and turn the other three into giant floating "balloons" in another is strange and cause for speculation of why it had such diverse effects. After all, originally, the humanizing effect was INTENDED, while the spray Shredder used on the other three was SUPPOSED to turn them back into ordinary turtles. It failed miserably in that regard. I think it might have been used in another episode as well, but I can't recall off the top of my head. However, I DO remember that Donatello created something similar from the last bit of the original ooze, and that was what was used to return Splinter to normal in "Splinter No More". So apparently, that was the intended effect of anti-mutagen all along. The balloon thing just baffles me.

Michaelangelo's Birthday aired before The Gang's All Here so it's possible the formula wasn't properly tested yet. The Rock soldiers were rocks and the Turtles were... yeah.

You know how just one episode can kill an entire show? "Shredders Mum" and "Raphael Knocks em dead!" Nearly did it for me......

Thankfully "Leonardo versus Tempestra" brought me back .... Only to be disappointed again few episodes later!

Mr. Ogg was definitely the worst in my opinion. To be frank any episode featuring alien warlords, gangsters and mad scientists being the main antagonists were difficult to sit through.

Oh my, Michelangelo's Birthday... what an awful episode that was. Definitely one of the worst ones of the FW toon.

I do remember that episode did promote the Flush-O-Matic. Mikey taking his brothers' feigning forgetting his birthday too seriously. I can't even describe what Leo, Raph and Don got turned into only to be cured by Splinter's "moth balls". Though I did find Rocksteady and Bebop on tricycles kind of funny.

That episode was stupid but I loved the fact that Michaelangelo thwarted Shredder himself with a little help from Splinter.

I don't like episode 'The case of the hot kimono', i can imagine it being at my buttom five list of ot episodes. However i do like 'New York's Shiniest'. I think REX-1 was a humorous character.

That's because Mutagen in its perfect form exists only in the Neutrino Kingdom in the form of the Holy Mutastones!!!

Shredder's Mother was an excellent episode, and one of the best episodes of the series. What exactly is your problem with a comedy series?

That episode also had a fantastic plot and good action too.

I agree with you on the others, but I liked "Shredder's Mom"; she proved to be more clever than her son!

What I wonder is how didn't Shredder's younger brother become a criminal like his older brother and his mother.

They may not have all lived together. Shredder stayed in Japan until he followed Yoshi to America, but his brother may have lived in the U.S. after a young age where he became a police officer.
