So what? Still wouldn't make sense for turtle to be attracted to human or human to be attracted to turtle unless they are explicitly xenophiles, but Mirage turtles are attracted to humans for some reason.(Considering that they were raised by mutant rat and not mutated human... Even if they watch human media... Yup, I don't get it. I guess its because human writers assume that every non human species find human women attractive for some reason ) But I'm assuming neither of them were acting like stalkers and that comic had better romance/build up for romance? Or was it like Ninjara and Ralph who hook up after two chapters after former was introduced and never given an actual personality during their relationship?

I expected at some point you would ask that, and it is a complicated matter, on both our parts. The qualifications of what makes a person human are intelligence, self-awareness, and conciseness.

So by those standards, yes April would qualify as a human because she has all those traits.

But here's the problem, by those standards, that would also qualify Donnie as a human also because he administers all those traits as well. Yet we all say he's a mutant? So what makes Donnie not human, but April is if they both pass those steps?

It's a fine line, and no pun intended, but sometimes people just chose to nitpick about things.

Me personally, a person that has been confirmed to not having 100% Human DNA and/or human blood is not 100% human, therefore my qualifications do not qualify either April or Donnie. Yet the examples I gave before would qualify both as human.

Now let's ask the same question to you, what traits make a human in your book?

I kind of figured April and Don would get together in this series, no matter what happened.

What I want to know is, what's up with that little cloak (?) Donnie's wearing in the storyboard, and why does he say, "I understand nothing," after the kiss? Did he like see her kissing Casey before that or something?

This whole thing is just confusing :/

Now I am lost on why they needed April clones, unless they were trying to duplicate her genetic makeup and DNA and just failed miserably.
Thank you, I knew it was something like that. I just wish we had more Foot episodes.

I think April is like one of those lab animals that have had extra-species genes inserted into them or something. They still are mostly that animal, but now have traits that the regular animal of their species never would have had.

I wonder if the process was accidental and that there's a unforeseeable side effect?

Actually no. It has the Turtles meet Radical a few times, then the story fastforwards to the year 2080 and it's mentioned that Leo and Radical were soulmates.

I'm gathering since April is chopping wood, the weather is colder there such as it being close to winter if not winter already. So that cloak could be an attempt at protection against the cold.

My interpenetration of the moment is that April is out preparing firewood when Donnie approaches her with a troubled expression on his face. He then says "I, uh...I just wanted to let you know I won't be bothering you with music boxes any more. I get it now. Donnie is to April as Bigfoot was to Donnie. I'm just a mutant."

I am taking this moment to mean, Donnie is saying, "I won't pursue you anymore. I accept that I don't mean anything to you. I'm just a mutant, and nothing more." So in other words he was telling her good-bye.

April then says "You're not just a mutant, you're my mutant."

So April is saying 'You do matter to me," and kisses him as if saying 'Don't give up on me yet."

Donnie is shocked by the kiss, however in the past where he has rejoiced the fact he's still has a place in April's heart. This time he smiles, but when he says "I understand nothing." He is expressing that he finds April confusing.

I don't think it's that confusing, the bit about the music box is the thing that intrigues me.

But in a shell, it's possible that Donnie sees April's reaction to the music box and that she sees and thinks nothing of it, which to him was the last blow to his chances of winning her. Which is basically what the conversation is, basically telling her that he's giving up all hope to be with her, and not going to force April to like him anymore. Which would be the first time he would tell her about his feelings, it would just be done in a different way that we expected it would in the show.

The "I understand nothing" simply refers to her reaction to it all, basically saying that this "music box" went from meaning nothing to I guess meaning everything to April when she found out that it was him.

The kiss in a way was April's similar symbolization to what Master Splinter told Donnie in "Mutagen Man Unleashed", "never lose hope." Telling him to never give up on something he believes in.

Just like Donnie and Casey told April the same thing in "Target: April" that "Some things are beyond our control."

Eeeeeeeeh, you are talking about "humanity" right? Eh, that term makes more sense in settings without other sentient beings than human since it becomes kinda speciest when you refer intelligence/spirit/goodness/whatever as "humanity". So I'm avoiding saying that humanity is what makes person a person, but I'm not sure what is good alternate word. Let's just assume that human corpse is still a human, but not a person anymore.

Donatello is turtle mutated with human traits that has been raised by human. So we can assume that he is mentally at least close to human if not exactly the same, its not like we know how mutant turtle biology works. However, he is still a reptile which means that his basic body structure and everything is different from humans who are mammals. While would something with leathery green skin find pink fleshy almost hairless mammal to be attractive?

See, you can't really say that someone is not human based on the composition of genes. Hell, quite lots of animals have mostly same genes as humans, the important part is how they appear. And apparently being part krang means nothing else than her having psionic abilities and being immune to dimension x stuff. If you are argue that someone who looks like human, is culture and birth wise human, but has additional stuff isn't human.. Well, by that logic cyborgs aren't human nor genetically modified humans. Though I guess you could argue that transhumanity isn't same humanity anymore... Hmm...

Another way to say it is like saying that Mutants from XMEN aren't humans because they have gene that gives them superpowers. Which is stupid thing to say in my opinion and would be rather offensive and dehumanizing thing to say. If in distant future genetic modification on humans become a thing... Well, if by your logic human is only human if they have all their genes naturally, what are they then if not human?

Anyway, I'd argue that you can make quite convincing argument on four turtles being basically humans despite being born as turtles. However, I just find it bizarre that something without nose, human skin, hair, human facial structure, etc would find humans to be attractive on first sight <_< Like, what if they had mutated into intelligent tentacle monsters instead? Or if we had teenage mutant ninja cockroaches? Why would something with thousand tentacles and no humanoid shape find human attractive? Why would cockroach mutant find human attractive?

Huh. So they avoided writing romance at all and just said "Between future and present they somehow fall in love"? Thats... Kinda lazy, but at least everyone can imagine it happened in good way and not in stupid way

I had a idea while back for a scene in an aborted fan fic thinking how funny it would if a female turtle shows up but because the ninja turtles are so use to human sexual dimorphism that they all thought it was boy until Donatello had point it out she was a girl base on things like shell shape and other things. Leo retorts innocently that first he spot wouldn't be the shell, which Donnie then ask point blank "Then how would know?". Leo becomes beet red and makes half ass excuses to get out there and after he left the room Donnie quietly said to himself, "Why he couldn't just say "the face"?".

Makes me kinda sad for them though... Feel like anyone else on the inside, but then on the outside you don't fit in. Prob be like living with hypertrichosis, aka "werewolf syndrome."

If the Turtles were to feel rather human on the inside, can't say I'd be surprised if they'd be attracted to humans then, esp considering they aren't surrounded by others just like them.

I guess with losing the Lair, and nearly losing Leo. Donnie felt the best thing was to tell April good-bye himself rather then lose her in general.

If they do all end up in serious danger and do that storyline, I could picture Donnie being even more protective of April, and to a certain extent Casey. The boy is his love rival, but we all know that Donnie would never actually want anything super bad to happen to him.

Now you are just character bashing. Of course he wouldn't want anything to happen to him. He may be his rival, but he's also a friend. In the Wormquake episode, he was just as upset as April when Casey was eaten by the...worm...thing. I forgot the name. You could hear it in his voice and he did try to save him.

Is character bashing even allowed on this forum? I know some forums forbid that.

That aside, you never replied to my other post directly aimed at you.

lmfao, you are MAD.

I'm not bashing. I'm saying that from my perspective, I wouldn't put it past him to act that way. But even if I was, would there really be anything wrong with it? No, not really. I have good reasons for disliking the character. Anybody that wants to ban my "bashing" of 2k12 Donnie is basically saying "I can't handle somebody disliking things I like waaaaah"

I've always been skeptical of such rationale. I don't doubt some marketers actually think like that, but is there any proof that when the percentage of male viewers has gone down, the actual number has gone down? Because if it actually hasn't, and the female viewers are just an addition, then it really is a non-issue whether a show appeals to women.
