i actually think his swords would be okay; the katanas are layers of forged steel and are capable of taking quite a beating. my assumption is that the surface he was sliding on was mainly feet of compressed snow, so he stabbed it into the ground, I cant imagine there was much resistance.

unless of course you were talking about when Leo was hit, back first, by the truck, in which case, yes, if not broken, at least somewhat dinged/bent. a katana between a bulletproof shell, and windshield. yikes.

Katana can be quite "fragile", there gotta be rocks or other non-snow elements under that snow that the swords should be damaged on. There is a reason why we are taught in TSKSR to angle our swords when going into contact with someone else's sword, swords aren't cheap, real katana at least. Although, Leo do have plenty of spares on the lair it seems.

And the sword would be wet, soaked in eventually melted snow... Rust-vile here they come.

The BTS just reassured all my hopes and got rid of all my fears for this movie!

This is definitely going to be my favourite film of the year.

Yes, or right now I am on a hiatus, as I had to take a brake when I studied in a different city and later in the UK, and sadly now, the new training hours clash with my work schedule.

But, I am a student member, just need a new job with better work hours. What's annoying is that I wasn't far off 1st Dan, which basically is black belt equivalent grade.

I loved the Behind-the-scenes special. It got me even more hyped up for the movie (I didn't know I could get even more excited) and I didn't even watch the snow chase scene at the end (I don't like watching entire scenes before the movie is out - too many spoilers).
It was really fun to see interviews from the stars, as well as Laird and Eastman, and all the effort put into the fight sequences and CGI.
And, I'm happy that Mikey is going to say "Cowabunga!"

I really don't understand Paramount/youtube. Why is Paramount taking so many trailer vids off, but yet they don't want to post them online themselves?

if im not mistaken, it was actually addressed in another thread, and from what I gather, the snow chase sequence showed during the special was NOT a final product; the renders, the music, nor evens the cuts/editing was not reflective of final output -

- my guess was, it was stitched together to build hype, enough to get butts in seats for the finished product. worked on me.
