I mean, the Turtles themselves is what pulls everyone in, but I love a strong supporting cast.
Angel is quickly becoming my favorite character in the IDW comics. I'd love to see her make an appearance in the Nicktoon.

The turtles are the main part, but it's still nice to see them interacting with normal humans. Without fighting between them. It's what makes Murakami and tea time girl special.

Guess what, there aren't. The only consistent male on that show is a buttmonkey and treated as a joke by his 'friends'. The secondary males consist of a one-dimensional Disney Prince to support his obligatory Disney Princess wife and a celebrity guest appearance who shows up about 3 episodes a season because he loves the exposure it gives him.


I know it's not completely correct to downplay people's complaints with another shows attributes, but you must understand they're very close to the same thing: Cartoons aimed at young female (MLP) / male (TMNT) audiences with the hopes that those children will go on to ask their parents to buy a crapload of toys for them.

I'm only saying that if you're going into a cartoon show for 9 - 13 year old boys and expecting 'strong female representation' you're probably not going to be too thrilled.

But hell, I adore April and Karai (assuming her mutation wasn't a way to write her out of the show), so I don't even know where the complaints are coming from.

Irma was a literal non-character and I have no idea why people are upset she's gone.

Two wrongs don't make a right. I thought we got through all of this sexist, gender gentrification decades ago. Bottom line, you want to maximize the potential of your investment, then make it assessable to as many demographics as possible.

This, I agree. Lately, it seems there has been more April than Mikey or Raph. And this, I find disturbing.

Yeah, I like tea time girl and the pizza delivery kid, too. That's why I've made fan fics with them because they're just such cool characters even if they don't show up that often.

1. Didn't Ciro say on facebook that some people who were working on TMNT suddenly switched to another show/company? It must've really pissed him off because normally Ciro's quite stush about the show. If you ask him questions most of the time you will not get an answer. Maybe this lady you're talking about was one of them and uploaded the storyboards to get her own back for being slated?

2. Not necessarily. While I think it's important to represent and appeal to people from all walks of life in media overall, simply flooding a show with a white person, a black person, an oriental person, an old lady, a young lady, a poor man, a rich man, for the sake of ticking boxes and pleasing the shouty folk over on tumblr isn't the way forward. You can't please everyone and trying to only dilutes your show into a middle-of-the-road, bland pile of mush. I understand where you're coming from, and yes, we have a long way to go with that, but demographics exist because if you aim for everyone, it's a waste of time and money because a lot of these demographics simply won't be interested in what you're selling. Companies have to be ultra specific to maximise profit.

I don't know about the others, but she in particular is now working at Dreamworks (actually Titmouse under contract to Dreamworks) as a Background Animator for the NetFlix's exclusive: Turbo FAST. If you remember the Dreamworks movie Turbo about the super-fast snail from a couple of years ago, well that's the base material... If I were her I'm not sure I would consider jumping from Nickelodeon and TMNT to Titmouse and a snail cartoon as an advancement in my career. Whether she was canned for the storyboard leak and then took this job or she leaked the storyboards AFTER she was fired or she left on her on accord and leaked them just because... we will probably never know.

Awe, I love Leo's smile in that one shot. Looks like Leo's still healing, that's one thing the writers have been doing right, besides the stupid love triangle crap they keep shoving down our throats they've been keeping Leo's healing process nice and slow. That's what I used to hate, how the writers would act like story arcs didn't happen till the actual arc continues.

I hope we get an episode that has Leo having a nightmare over Shredders attack in the future, add more to that plot please no more episodes devoted to the love triangle

I hope the Bigfoot episode is good. Not really sure what to expect aside from Donnie undoubtedly being bearhugged and some random hunter trying to capture Miss Bf. I wonder if this episode is going to pay homage to those horrible Boggy Creek movies. Nah, maybe Curse of Bigfoot.

I'm looking forward to Raph and Mikey riffing on Donnie. Well, I hope they do anyway. I think the show should have lighthearted moments after what happened in the finale.

The triangle thing doesn't bug me because there really aren't eps devoted to it, imo. To me the only ep that seem to fall into that category is the Ho Chan ep.
