I'm hoping the whole point of this episode is to give Donnie a little taste of his own medicine and see how it feels to have someone crushing all over you and finally get him to focus on more important things. As I mentioned in another post, it bothers me that Donnie was more worried about April being with Casey than looking for his missing brother. Bros before Hoes, dude.

I honestly don't have any problems with love triangles (especially Donnie, Casey and April's) but they just went through some serious sh*t 3 months back, lost their father and almost their oldest brother. It's time to put the love squabbles on the back burner for a little while.

While I think it's important to represent and appeal to people from all walks of life in media overall, simply flooding a show with a white person, a black person, an oriental person, an old lady, a young lady, a poor man, a rich man, for the sake of ticking boxes and pleasing the shouty folk over on tumblr isn't the way forward. You can't please everyone and trying to only dilutes your show into a middle-of-the-road, bland pile of mush. I understand where you're coming from, and yes, we have a long way to go with that, but demographics exist because if you aim for everyone, it's a waste of time and money because a lot of these demographics simply won't be interested in what you're selling. Companies have to be ultra specific to maximise profit.

The thing is, since the first toon in the 80's, the TMNT have already been established to be a unisex show, and the fact that the main characters are green mutants, that right there takes care of any culture issues. So, why the need to go backwards? I bet half the members on this board and fans in general to the TMNT are females. TMNT is like The X-Men, in that has already crossed those barriers, why backtrack now? Is having a couple of female characters on the show really going to hurt the toys sales? I highly doubt it.

Maybe they're nervous of doing female characters in a kids' action show because they're a lot trickier to do than male characters. Especially on a show where most, if not all, of the writers are men. And they always draw the biggest criticisms from fans and cause the biggest arguments between fans. Maybe it's just too much hassle?

Donnie's feeling down about something, so Raph decides that the perfect thing to perk everyone up is a fighting session.

During the training, Raph absolutely wipes out Mikey and Donnie and says they're getting rusty from lack of training. Leo is observing and him and Raph agree that they need to take it up a notch and that they need to get better at adapting to new environments because the country is different to the city.

Leo suggest a 'Turtlehunt'.

I'm sort of glad they did. I would have been tempted to watch them a week early. I did that with Invasion and it was pretty much like I had to sit through a two week hiatus. It was fun seeing it early, but hopefully this will improve the ratings.

That is the point of the episode. The storyboards show Donnie comparing himself to Bigfoot as he decides to step aside and leave April alone. Then April kisses him and keeps the love triangle going.

I read it and I agree. Don isn't creepy. He's lovesick. And April is the deciding factor in that she doesn't mind and actually chooses to hang alone with him from time to time.

Creepiness is in the eye of the person involved. Lots of things can be taken as creepy when taken out of context. I can leave flowers to a girl that likes me and that can make her day or I could leave flowers to some girl that doesn't know me that well or at all and totally creep her out. It all depends on the people involved and how they feel about each other.

Y'all gotta stop being turtlist against Donnie. Most of the arguing here had little to no reason other than 'but he's a turtle eewwww'. If April wants some if that who the **** are you to judge.

Also they need to make Casey more likeable. Maybe he needs to be knocked down a few pegs. He honestly has nothing going for him to be with April other than 'but April was with Casey in other versions'.

Casey was always kind of a rugged action man but he was more loveable in 2K3 and the movie.

I agree with all of this as well. It really feels that April is more endeared towards Donnie when he is being himself as her friend. Rather then the moments when he's trying to impress her. So she knows he likes her, and trusts he's not going to push the issue further then what she's comfortable with. And even when he is tripping over himself like a love starved puppy (Which he has thankfully grown out of) She knows that's just one of the ways he shows he cares.

Where as Casey comes off too strongly. In fact a number of the moments where they are alone together his attitude has been "I'm a guy, your a girl, and I just know you are just dying to get a taste of Casey Jones."

Though he does have a side that does care about April as a person and he does make an effort to get to know Donnie, not just as his rival but as his friend as well. That way he has an idea of who his competing against for April.

There are not many love triangles where the rivals try to get to know each other. In many cases they are friends already and become bitter enemies over the same girl. Other times they are bitter enemies from the get go. And other times such as the Gail vs. Pita match up, one of them just drifts away from the girl they are interested in.
