I hate the idea of 6 Frogs.

The reason there was 4 was because of 4 Turtles. They can be evenly matched. So why add 2 more?

Maybe to give them a disadvantage? I don't know, but it'll be interesting nonetheless to see them. And, yeah, looks like Mikey's running away over something. Either that or maybe the frog is running away and Mikey's trying to talk him out of it.

Someone (can't remember who) did say that Ciro said it will end up as 3 punk frogs. So maybe there are 2 or 3 evil ones or 1 of them dies.

Or possibly three defect from the evil ones and are the good ones. That's my guess anyway.

Can't just have a tribe of four people. Perhaps the other two represent April and Casey.

Yeah, exactly. I can't get sick of something that's not focused on and generally done in a comedic way.

Same here, for the most part. The Triangle isn't focused on enough to bother me because it's never the main focus of an episode (minus that Ho Chan ep). They usually just toss things in to remind us that it's still there, and even after that's done, it's "out of sight, out of mind" as it focuses on the real plot of said episode.

Yeah, the only time the triangle bothered me was during that Ho Chan ep, but mainly because both Donnie and Casey were coming across as out of character to me and over the top.

I may be a fan of the Turtles, but I don't like every little thing that has to do with them. I'm not a fan of the Frogs, Renet or the Fugitoid. I'm really not a fan of Baxter Stockman either. When he's on screen, either be it the 80's toon, 2k3 or this one, he just bores me. When reading descriptions of episodes, if I find that Baxter will be apart of it, I tend to just do something else, and will catch that episode when I go through one of my binges.

Now, while I am not a fan of Mondo Gecko, I will definitely be looking forward to his episode, because Robbie Rist is said to be voicing him, and he is my favorite Michelangelo voice actor ever! So, it's going to be a nolstolgia kick to hear him talk again.
But it's a different show altogether. Just because the Punk Frogs were naive country hicks in the original doesn't mean that this will be the case for this incarnation. Same goes for pretty much all of the "borrowed" characters so far, right? Even OT Baxter and Nick Baxter are pretty different. Yeah both come across as pathetic, but OT Baxter didn't originally go around wanting to be a super villain or get back at people and stuff. He just wanted someone to recognize his skill and to find someone to produce and manufacture his Mousers. It just got to the point where he was stuck working for Shredder.

And even when they were going to, well, incinerate poor Baxter and we ended up with Fly Baxter, he was neither an ally to Shredder or the Turtles as there were eps where he was trying to do away with both, as he was also slowly losing his mind and intelligence.

I couldn't see that happening with Baxter in this series. He started off, imo, wanting to become a villain. OT Baxter just sorta fell into it.

I'm looking forward to seeing how they handle the frogs since it'll be way different from the OT, where Shredder and Krang lost the mutagen canister in the Florida swamps, Shredder went there and tricked them into working for him and to go against the Turtles.

So...plot and character mean nothing? It's all about design and looks? Well, I'm guilty of this myself. I can't bring myself to watch the 2014 film...I don't like the designs much, but the main thing that was putting me off from the film wasn't the design of the turtles, but the fact that it's coming across as a typical action film without any actual martial arts. Foot Soldiers with guns don't appeal to me at all.

Anyway, getting back on topic, about the Punk Frogs in the OT... Krang and Shredder lost a canister of mutagen in the Florida swamps via their transporter, iirc. Shredder (in normal clothes....a nice 80s suit, pastel colors and all lol) went to retrieve it. He saw that the mutagen spilled from it. He then discovered four frogs who mutated from it. He talked them into working for him, giving them names: Napoleon, Ghengis, Rasputin, and the other is escaping me. He also gave each one weapons and planned on using them against the turtles. The Punk Frogs were very innocent and naive, though, and sounded very southern and country. Anyway, long story short, after encountering the turtles, they realize that Shredder is really the bad guy and become allies of the turtles.

To be honest, they weren't around very much. Only other eps I remember with them was when they (the turtles) were all off doing their own things. Donny was working on something in his lab with his Turtlecom off and Raph and Mikey took the Turtle Blimp down to Florida to hang with them so they were out of range I think when Leo needed help. It was a really good Leo episode. He realized that he needed to be more confident in his own abilities, which he didn't fully realize until April pointed it out.

The other episode I recall (and this part was stupid) had Napoleon, I think coming up to NYC, by bus (-_-) to visit the turtles. He had on a suit. Geez. It reminds me of that line Nick Raph had back in early season 2 about Donnie's tracker being as useless as a trenchcoat on a turtle" which did have me seriously laughing, but anyway... This was a season 7 episode, iirc. He (along with many other mutants) were captured by a mutant hunter hired to take care of the mutant problem in the city. Tokka and Rahzaa were captured as well as Mondo Gecko and I think Mikey and Leo were captured too. Not sure about Leo, but definitely Mikey.

-who said I wasn't gonna watch the episode??

and....no...I don't like episodes that are just there for comedy I admit. I love comedy in episodes....but the episode has to be going somewhere...
You're young, aren't you? lol I shall assume that you didn't grow up with episodic television. That 's probably why these episodes aren't bothering me. I grew up with the stuff. OT TMNT was very episodic, as was stuff like She-Ra, He-man, Transformers, the majority of everything aimed at kids until like the later part of the 90s (imo). Even Batman: The Animated Series was episodic and that series is known as being, well, awesome.

but that's me, if you enjoy those kinda episodes then you keep on enjoying them
I know I will. I like goofiness and comedy. Something that's always plot-heavy gets boring for me, so I enjoy lighthearted episodes occasionally.

I wonder if Mikey had an arguement with the others because maybe he want's to return to New York and find Splinter or they are blaming him over the lost, spilled mutagen.
That's what I was thinking. I look forward to that if that's the case. I like when Mikey gets annoyed with his brothers or goes "rogue" so to speak, like in Into Dimension X and Shellacne and even the last episode.

With the way they still have the other three doubt Mikey, I hope that Renet will definitely be the one who doesn't. He could definitely used a friend (like Leatherhead) who does.

I'm hoping they stop with the homages for a little while. I mean, while they were both good, I hope the writers go for more original storylines rather than copying horror movies for filler episodes. I also hope they tap into the Mirage or IDW story arcs.

Man, I'm totally digging these eps so far. I love these horror homages because of the creepiness of them...but I am in a Halloween mood and have the Halloween spirit, which may explain why I'm into these eps. I wonder if they're doing these episodes because it's October. There's still the Vision Quests and stuff the turtles are supposed to do and Leo is still injured, so it can't be done now.

depends...is 21 young?
Spoiler:

and yea...I grew up in the 90's....I know all about episodic cartoons and I like them....for certain cartoons.

for example...I love the Amazing World of Gumball and that's episodic but it's also not an action drama show.... It's comedy.

but if TMNT wants to act big and show crazy scary episodes and have traumatic moments, then they gotta follow up on that. Not just have one messed up episode then have a "we're all happy now~ it's cool lol" episode.

what I'm saying is....having a one off episode is cool....when there's no danger at the time....but TMNT has set itself up with all these different plots that are kinda hard to ignore right now...even for one episode.
1) The kraang taking over the city
2) Splinter gone
3) Karai still out there
4) Shredder's plans?

I mean....it's been 3 months....I find it hard to believe no one has tired to look for Splinter? Even if Leo was out, they should have been using that time to find a way to fix this whole mess. I know they are kids, but they got responsibilities.(even just talking about it helps show a little continuity)

Agreed. I have very few complaints for this season so far.

I wonder if Leo's just going to sloooowly get better. You think someone would be doing some physical therapy with him or something.

I feel that Leo's injuries at least for the most part are psychological. After all he did suffer a serious defeat at the hands of their greatest enemy. While seeing Leo injured was devastating for his bros. For him it was humiliating because he was lead into a situation that was obviously a trap, he was fighting against a big bad that he knew he would not be able to take out on his own. And he has physical damages because of it that are never going to go away.

So we never really see him training or really fighting on his own since Within the Woods because he is afraid of his brothers seeing him in the weakened state. Or view him with pity or think less of him because of what has happened. And while he wants to get stronger and save the city, there is a nagging fear that maybe he will not be strong enough to take out the Shredder and Kraang and they are better off free from all that. Because the city would have only grief, pain, and loss waiting for them.

Leo's going to make his full recovery during the vision quest most likely. From what we've seen of the preview, all of Shredder's group pops up to combat Raph, Mikey, and Donnie. No doubt Shredder will be Leo's main opponent during the quest and he will have to overcome the task, both physically and, as you said, mentally.

Yeah...not comparable. I've seen that show...it's too random even for me. lol They show it here in Japan on Japan's Cartoon Network which I do feel is better here compared to back home if I ever do watch the station. Just hit me I haven't watched any TV since like...July. lol Maybe I'll actually turn on my TV today.

Personally, for the earlier points, what can they actually do? With Splinter, Raph pointed out that he was gone. It's too dangerous to go back at this point anyway. Point 3, yes she's still out there and we'll learn about Shredder's plans when the actual plot calls for it. When they can fully return to NYC, they will.

I don't. Leo was knocked out. The brothers are close. I could see them keeping close by just in case.

In the Bigfoot episode, Raph wanted to train in the woods. He said they (Donnie and Mikey) were getting rusty and they need to learn how to do wilderness training. They've been there three months...they've never practiced training in the nearby woods? My guess, they didn't want to go too far off to keep close to a knocked out Leo. As Raph put it, "No turtle left behind." One of April's drawings in the first ep even had all three of them watching over an unconscious Leo.

At this point they can't head back to NYC because Leo is still injured. He'd slow them down. They also don't have the tech to head back to face the Kraang, but now that they discovered that Kraang ship, maybe Donnie can do something with it so that they can go back safely. Hm, I now wonder if the thing in the intro isn't the Turtle Blimp, but that Kraang ship they discovered last episode.

My theory is that when Leo is fully healed up and the turtles do their vision quests and get their new weapons and stuff, maybe they'll telepahtically get connected with Splinter and then they'll realize fully that he is alive...although personally, I'd want it to be Mikey and honestly, I do kinda wish they would have Mikey randomly say at times that Splinter is still alive.

I'm just gonna spoiler this XD hope you don't mind.

...If they at least showed one of the turtles online looking at the progress of the city....or talking about what they are gonna do once they are ready that would be awesome.
Just talking about it at least once every episode (even if it's only for a minute or so) That would be enough for me honestly.

It would also be nice if the writers would cut back to the city a little to give us some updates on what's happening even if the turtles won't know.

also Amazing world of Gumball is awesome!! XD it gets better every season!
it's randomly amazing~

Definitely. They can't just hop up and go back to NYC until they're minds and bodies are ready. Of course the other three are physically capable, but I doubt either is mentally capable, hence the vision quests.

Something will have to occur to give them the push they need to even attempt going back. At this point, Donnie doesn't even have the tech to work with to even attempt taking on the Kraang.

Anyway, getting personal again, but as I've mentioned before, I was in the hospital from late August up until October 11. I had all of this week off as well to recuperate. Physically I'm ready to go back to work, but mentally I'm not. I can't fully explain why, though, and I'm fearing going back. It's like a developed an anxiety issue since being hospitalized and being gone for so long. Of course it's not comparable to Leo getting beaten down, but I can understand fearing something that harmed you...albeit, in my case, it's a bit indirect.

This. So far, pretty much everything in this season is just a blantant rip off of something else. Whoever is in charge of the creative process right now, kind of sucks, because they are not creating anything new, they are just borrowing other people's ideas and throwing it into this show and hope it sticks.
