Hmmm, well I don't think they're really going to fall into obscurity but I believe Bebop and Rocksteady, despite their prevelence in the most popular TMNT cartoon, has more or less started to enter the B-list of characters.

They were ignored for the movies, the 4Kids cartoon ignored them (for good reasons), the IDW series takes 25 issues to give them a proper introduction and the Nick cartoon introduces them towards the end of season 2 when there's already a ton of stuff going on.

I wonder if we'll ever see characters form the Red Sky seasons again. Dregg, Carter, Mung Titanus and his mutants, Krakus, the aliens from that episode in season 8, etc. could be brought back in some way or another with a bit of rewriting.
Napoleon's toy was a whole different animal, however.

If the Punk Frogs were to be used in some format again, they could do what playmates did with the Genghis and Napoleon toys/figs, and make them different from each other. Beef out thier traits and personalities, splash out a more in depth origin story, It could work

Yeah the Punk Frogs are pretty much the laziest idea ever. Say what you will about Mondo Gecko and his meaninglessness (I know I have and I might be the only one here) but at least there wasn't four of him running around.

Bebop and Rocksteady have returned in the two big series going on now and you don't think they're important?

Well not exactly. It's not that I think they're unimportant it's just that they seem like as important as Shredder, Karai, Krang etc. That if they were removed you wouldn't really notice in the long run.

If we are to compare the IDW comics to let's day the Spider-Man comics in terms of how important the characters are, Shredder is like the Green Goblin, Krang is like Doc Ock, April is like MJ, Karai is like Venom, Old Hob is like Lizard and Bebop and Rocksteady are like Scorpion and Shocker.

bebop and rocksteady have been in every series except for Mirage and the movies. You can technically say they appeared in 4kids too because of Turtles Forever.

They were in the original cartoon, Turtles Forever, Archie, Nick and IDW.

That's 5 series out of a total of 7 unique universes.

Yeah sure but the problem with Bebop and Rocksteady in the first cartoon is that they have very little purpose, they're the useless henchmen to a pair of rather incompetent villains.

As for the Archie series, they're again kind of pointless except Murphy realised that and dropped them 13 issues in to be nudists on an alien planet. They were given a short comeback but essentially had no reason to back and were just back to nudism on the savannah planet again.

Turtles Forever, it would be weird if they weren't in that.

And the IDW and Nick series, I don't know. Maybe they have big plans for them in the pipeline and if they do I will take back my suspicions but right now it mostly looks they're there to bring in the casually nostalgic.

A bit off-topic but I don't think we're gonna see a comical take on Raphael ever again. Sure, FW has the most memorable legacy of all the TMNT incarnations but younger generations view him as the "angry one" while Michelangelo is the "funny one". It's quite a shame since I'd love to see Raphael being the witty one again. Man, it's kinda awkward how Paulsen is in a TMNT cartoon voicing Donatello instead of Raphael. If someone had told me this a decade ago I'd call them wackos.

What's the point of having Dogpound and Fishface, then you can have Bebop and Rocksteady (with much more tough and deadly side, of course).

1.Lobster Suprise (I think that's his name). Only showed in one magazine issue.
2.Archeloga: A boss from TMNT 3:Mutant Nightmare. Another mutant turtle created by Bishop.
3.Fishsticks and all of the other little figure buddy characters: Only in the original line and nothing else.
4.Terrorpin: Aside from a few Mirage issues he had never appeared anywhere else.
5.Hamato Hana: Simple, only in Mirage and doesn't fit into most of established canon.
6.Izanagi and Izanami: Only in Archie and weren't important anyway.
7.Deadbolt: Only in one Mirage issue and never seen again.
8.Go-Komodo, King Komodo, and Pimiko: Only in Image and have never been acknowledged outside of those comics.
9.Chet: Only in 4 Mirage issues and doesn't fit in any of the current origins of the Turtles.
10.Captain Hoffman: Only in one OT episode.
I have at least a dozen more.

I think that Eric Sachs will fade away into obscurity soon, given the negative reception to his film. Also, most of the Mutants of the Week from the Nick series.

I fear Tokka will fade away with Nick deciding to split him and Rahzar up and just bringing Rahzar in alone. I fear we will never see Tokka again

I think Tokka is redundant when you have Slash. How many evil mutant turtles do you need?

Obscure and likely never to come back is Shredder's replacement from the late 90s - Dragonlord/Warlord Komodo. I liked the idea of a new enemy for the turtles, but both versions of this character (from Next Mutation and Image Comics) were sadly underdeveloped.

I loved the Image version, which had a mutation "sickness" that caused him to become a monitor lizard from time to time. The turtle's DNA would've provided a cure for him, and that alone could have provided a lot of story potential if they'd actually followed through with any of it.

I am with you. I would like to see Tokka again. And I like his realtionship with Rahzar in 1987 series. It's a shame that they were only in one episode

One of the Nick games will use Tokka, and the producers have also teased him.
