Personally, I don't see how the way I watched series could change my opinion about it. If anything, it would have been probably much worse, if I watched them normally. At least now, I had luxury to immediately wash away aftertaste from bad episodes with good ones, which naturely improved my opinion about the show as the whole.

Now, when I am in the same boat as everyone else, there is no way for me to say "there were some bad episodes this season, but main arc made it worth to sit through", because, I don't know what will happen next. I will judge each episode on its own merit, not as part of a bigger picture, with all consequences it entails.

I agree with everything you say here. I would have thought a Northampton arc would have provided a really good opportunity to show the turtles reeling from Leo's injuries and the loss of Splinter. But no. If anything the plots are getting increasingly surreal and... Just plain stupid.

I have hope though. I'd like to think its a temporary lull. I'll keep watching in the hope that it will get better, but seriously... Enough with the frickin' mutants.

Fair enough, but let me give you a heads up: anticipate surprises, they do happen when you least expect them (speaking from the experience of eagerly following this series for over a year)

The irony is that this very show had genuinly surprised me with its quality back in the first season. I expected something incredibly stupid and childish, with little to no continuity, but instead show gave me nice characters, story arcs and good humor. It exceeded my expectations.

But after very shaky Season 2, I don't know what to expect. The potential for good stories and character development is there, almost on the surface, thanks to the good setup that was made back in Season 1. But as of now its almost entirely abandoned in favor of episodic nature and gimmicks. The worst part for me, is that so far Season 3 gave me nothing to expect it to be better then Season 1 and 2.

All episodes of Season 3 have been great so far except the Bigfoot episode. So I don't see the problem with these episodes.

I'm enjoying Season 3 so far as well.
We have dream beavers this week and kooky car Donnie next week. If we don't get some plot after those two episodes I'll start complaining.

Well, I think the Dream Beavers episode will have some semblance of a plot at least regarding the Turtles' dreams, which I'm eager to see, and I'm excited to see Donnie and that car.

Sadly I feel like the "This show sucks now" and the "They aren't even trying anymore" mentality is so common among hardcore fan bases. It's impossible to go to a fan page and not have people declaring this is the end and how the creative team are ruining things lol. Personally I can't wrap my mind around what some of you guys are seeing when you complain about the show.

I hope we see Shredder in one of those dreams. I miss that guy! It was great to hear KMR voicing Genghis last weekend. If he isn't showing up this weekend, I hope he's in the vision quest episode. You'd think Shredder would be able to mess with the boys while they were on their vision quest. I'm not sure how much mystical ability he has, but I guess it's possible that he has some experience in that sort of thing.

To me season 3 has been kinda shaky. The Bigfoot episode was the worst, and episode 3 was weird. I honestly don't want my kids to ever watch S3 ep3. The first episode was cool because it showed what life was like for the turtles outside of NYC. The Punk Frogs episode was great! I hope they keep coming like that.

My gut tells me that the dream beavers episode will be pointless without adding anything to the overall story like the larper episode, but I'm hoping it's good. Even though I know that the first half of season 3 or so will take place at the farm house, I still would like to see a clip of NYC. Maybe show us what Shredder is doing, or maybe Karai. That would be cool.

I haven't been really enjoying the third season since the first episode of it. We've had a few enjoyable moments in them but in my opinion that's about it. I'm hoping we get back to New York soon.

I guess when you have shows like "Avatar", "Korra", and the 90s Batman cartoon, people expect a lot more from animated shows nowadays. Sure, there are lots of episodes I don't like, but I still think this is one of the best versions of TMNT since the 80s. And this is coming from a 31-year-old woman who's "too old for cartoons." And even if this show does go downhill or whatever, I still have other versions of the franchise to enjoy. I'm loving the IDW comics and I'm currently into the Mirage comics from back in the day, so if the new show doesn't aim to please, I can still get my fix.

As for the season, well, just gonna roll with it and see where it goes. Hate brakes more then any lack of story momentum, as long as it's on each week I'm good...

Here as a woman of 30 "too old for cartoons" I agree entirely that's one of the best version sinces the 80s, It is fresh, modern and it is not a copy / paste of the 80 years.
so far season 3 is entertaining, we'll see how the second part of the story takes place

There are some good moments, but a few good moments doesn't make a good episode.

I don't wanna shut off my brain to enjoy these episodes I want to genuinely be engaged and be interested and what's gonna happen next like season 1 and even some of season 2

I've enjoyed season 3 so far, I admit that the stories have felt weak but we only had 4 episodes so far and I reckon the stories are going to get stronger especially with the upcoming Spirit Quest episode and then with the turtles returning to New York and then this rumoured Dark Raph story.

Well, if we see Shredder in this episode, I so hope it's in Leo's dream as he's dreaming about the attack. And I think it would be awesome if he was in the vision quest episode as well as a way for Leo to conquer his fear, but we'll see where they go. Can't wait for tonight!

I wonder if it possible that the show was over hype in the beginning and we're only just starting to see the flaws of the shows?
