Man, that looks awesome.
I cannot wait for season 3 to air here.
I'm afraid they'll divide the season in 2 halves like they did in America though.

To echo everyone else in here: loved this episode. Probably among my top five of the series. Okay, maybe top ten.

Donnie vs Tigerclaw was really interesting to me. I've always seen Donnie as the weakest fighter on the team, always using "brain" to make up for his lack of "brawn" if that makes any sense. I was really glad to see the writers address that. Love to see that fight in the future.

Yep, I also loved the episode. Great to see Shredder and his minions again, even if they didn't actually appear. The music used when the guys were forging new armor was the same used in the recap before Manhattan Project pt. 2. I haven't been able to get it out of my head for weeks and now it's stuck in there again. Thanks, Nick! Awesome piece, so I ain't complaining. I don't know what else to say other than next Sunday can't get here fast enough!

Yeah, I think this is reoccurring problem of TMNT 2012 series. Last time they did this was in season II episodes 25-26 (Invasion), where they packed invasion of Kraang, Leo's defeat by the Foot, Splinter's showdown with the Shredder, etc... all cramped in two measly episodes. It was terribly rushed and appeared as just glances at different storylines, which don't belong together.

As for the episode, let's just say the whole mysticism thing was a tad too corny for me. The need to explain everything to excess is really annoying. The children watching your show won't abandon it if you leave one little thing unexplained - they might actually use their brains to figure stuff for themselves *sigh* Other than that, I did like fighting scenes, particularly Mike's and Leo's. Mike's part I liked 'cause he kicked butt (a rarity for him), and Leo's because it was most enjoyable to watch out of them all. Shredder sure whooped his ass, lol - props to thread opener for "Seth get bitch-slapped by a deer." XD. Speaking of Seth, after producing positively horrible performance in "Eyes of Chimera", I'd say he's getting on a road of becoming better. Just him speaking in a higher voice made him more bearable to listen. Also, Seth should make funny noises and joke more, that way he sounds younger and more in character.

Hit it right on the noise for me, instead of giving us 7 horrible horror themed episodes it would have been great to see them explore this one episode further.

Vision quest is great in concept, but terribly executed.

Guys, save the nitpicking for the nitpicking thread.

Now, this isn't nitpicking. Just simply a question: Did anyone else feel differently about who the Turtles should have fought against in this episode? For some reason, I would have preferred seeing Mikey fight Fish Face, Raph fight Tiger Claw and Donnie fight Razhar. No idea why.

Yes, I would have preferred a little swapping. I think Raph should have fought Tiger Claw. Who ever fought Fish Face got the leftovers, lol.

I expect they got away with it because the animation was done really fast (I had to watch it a few times just to see how Mikey destroys Rahzar) and also Rahzar was a spirit so wouldn't be possible if he was real.
Indeed I don't see why that is so surprising....

Mikey is one of the (if not the) most hardcore turtle imo. Pizza Face episode is one of the examples that he can brutalized a mutant and finally threatened it to a firey death in a furnace. Looking back in Season 1, the episode after Rad Brad betrayed him, he's all hell bent on trying to kill him - watch as his kusarigasama dove from above going for Brad's head!!

God I love how they made him all twisted like that.

He might look cutesy, fluffy, kiddish outside but inside he's barking mad, absolutely insane. Not to mention his knowledge of sexual nature...UGH! (i.e. "Hey! We're not that kind of sub!"; ..pleasure of the flesh, etc). He's not exactly innocent. He sure fooled you huh?

Yeah, definitely agree with this!

When that episode came out, with Mikey in Dimension X and the promo pics showed him with the hollowed out Kraang on his head, I wasn't surprised at all. I'd been saying myself, Mikey has a dark side and survival skills.

In the second Rat King episode, Mikey kept punching that one rat while trying to bait it with cheese. I found that kind of...morbid. Pizzaface (still say it was a dream) also showed he had a dark side, especially with that oven scene AND he threw the pizza in the freezer with ICK. That pizza was screaming for help, but he ignored it. In Wrath of Tigerclaw, even in the original thread, though some disagreed, I even felt Mikey was trying to kill him by pulling him towards the blade...but I also felt that all four were trying to fight to kill that time too....as you were saying.

And he did try to stab Bradford, as you mentioned...

...so yeah, his taking out Rahzar in the way he did for his vision quest didn't shock me or surprise me at all. This is why Mikey's character is so interesting to me as this show continues on....for stuff like this.

Oh and even in this episode, the way he took out that one Foot Soldier before vision Rahzar showed up was kind of...dark. The way he killed it was extreme...imo.

Hey, wouldn't it be hilariously ironic if Ciro trolled all of us and gave us a "Dark Mikey" arc instead? >< j/k

Maybe that's why. Splinter mentioned he had to use his body and be strong like the mountain. Tiger Claw went on about being strong and Donnie being weak. Maybe that's why they put him against Tigerclaw, other than the fact that Leo had to go against Shredder.

That aside, I honestly can't picture Raph or Mikey swapping who they fought. Mikey has history with "Rad Brad". He screwed Mikey over. It's literally personal. Fishface and Raph were also stuck together that time back in season 1, so I couldn't imagine Fishface going up against Leo or Donnie. I dunno...just felt the pair ups were appropriate.

Hmm...I actually thought it would have been cool to see Mikey and Raph switch because they have such a strong history with Bradford and Xever. We've seen Mikey and Raph beat both of them multiple times in the real world. It made their quest less of a threat. Again, I loved Donnie's because not only was it a new pairing, but because Tiger Claw is actually a huge threat. And, of course, Leo had to face the Shredder.

Donnie's taken out fishface twice, once with a ball of compressed garbage in the pulverizer, and the second time with a kick to the face in the Pulverizer returns. He also took out Dogpound with a broom in Pulverizer Returns. And he technically takes out Rahzar when he smashes that sprinkler system so Rahzar, fishface, and stockman could be electrocuted.

Tiger Claw is the only villain that Donnie hasn't actually fought. Even the Spirit Version of Tiger Claw felt like Donnie wasn't worth his time. Which is why he's calling Donnie a fool in the last part of that particular battle.

Tiger Claw: And they call you the smart one?! I am twice your size and three times your strength, YOU...WILL...FALL!!!

So in other words "If you are as smart you are proclaimed to be, you should surrender."

And if Donnie is ever captured by the Foot Clan, I can see Tiger Claw tell him "Don't make things difficult on yourself, and just do what Master Shredder demands."

And the reason he attacked Bradford in that manner was because Bradford had just hurt Donnie. If you look at the moments before that attack you see Mikey watching Donnie fighting Bradford. When when Donnie is making a lunging attack, Bradford moves out of the way and uses the opening to stomp on Donnie's head. Mikey sees this with horror and then gets an expression that just says 'No one hurts my brother like that!'

  • The outfits and weapons.
  • Seeing Tiger Claw and Fish Face again.
  • Fish Face and Raph fighting underwater. I feel like when Xever got mutated he lost a little bit of his prowess but it would make sense as he is literally a fish out of water. We really need some more underwater battles with him. Preferably with a non-turtle like Casey, where the risk of him drowning is a lot more real.
  • The fact April got left behind at the farm. She's been doing my head in recently. It was good to just have a turtlecentric episode as well.
  • You can't go wrong with a bit of Mikey and ICK time.
  • How amazing was the music in this episode?!?!

Dislikes
  • STILL dragging out the Donnie obsession with April.
  • Maybe the episode could've done with a bit more time. It wasn't enough for a two parter but felt a bit rushed for 20 minutes.
  • I get Fish Face vs Raph, Leo vs Shredder and Rahzar vs Mikey, but it's not like Tiger Claw has ever personally singled Donnie out. Maybe a Baxter Stockman, mocking figure would've been a bit more suitable? There's nothing a clever person hates more, than being outclevered. Or being teased for ones failures.
  • Such a big thing is always being made out of Raph's seemingly uncontrollable temper. Actually, he hasn't properly full-on lost it in an episode for ages. We see more of him supporting and comforting his brothers than we do, him arguing with them. Which made the whole 'focus your anger' thing seem a bit void for me.

Agree, Baxter might have been a better fit, being he's a similar tech/inventor/science sort.

Although Donnie was also intended to focus on his physical ability more than relying as much on his mind. Tiger Claw is rather challenging physically I guess that may be what that pairing was about.

Aside from Raph having past history with him, Fishface also seems to be a little bit of an instigator, so I can see how that fits along those lines as well if it's someone who might try to push his buttons and get him angry and lose focus.

OMG, I freaked out when I watched this! I admit to shrieking and fangirling and staring in awe. I was so tired of the whole "Mutant of the Week" thing. And when Splinter appeared in the blue campfire, I literally jumped up and yelled to my brother, "THAT'S FROM THE 90S MOVIE OMG OMG OMG!!!!!!!" And my mom just looked at me like I was a freak

I like how 90s movie Splinter was always seemed weak and fragile but 2k12 Splinter is always standing upstraight full of authoritative power and lively. What a contrast.
