That's what I'm trying to do, But there hasn't been any new pics or videos lately, They are filming in some studio, And we haven't seen any leaked photos from that... Yet.

Too bad forums don't come (I don't think?) with an image gallery feature. A TMNT 2 gallery members can flip through and add to while allowing threads to have the open discussion they're going to end up having anyhow.


Although to be honest, conversation in a pic/video thread is less annoying than if it was just an info thread... photos are a lot easier to spot just scrolling through pages, so not nearly as big a deal imo.

I don't mind intelligent discussion in regards to the topic (Set Photos/ Videos). It's the wading through post after post of banality to find any that's annoying. Why don't YOU create a thread for that sort of thing rather than hijacking this one?

He understands action in a way very few people do. He understands rhythm better than any other filmmaker of action films out there. He goes big on every set piece, and makes incredible spectacle. AND he's made huge dollars in the process.

He makes visually stunning movies that have nothing to do with the source material. THAT's his crime. He isn't really that interested in remaking other peoples stuff. from that vantage point, he shouldn't. I hate the first turtles film with a blind rage second only to my impassioned hatred of sport hunters or animal abusers, but even I can see it's not truely BAY who is the problem. it took many people to screw that movie up, and I can say mith almost pure certainty, the writers and designers and the director and the OTHER producers are the most culpable.

And here's the kicker. When you meet him in person, he's a really, really really nice guy. He's generous and kind, and almost shy.

He most definitely isn't the person you think he is.

I'll respectfully disagree on a couple of points - back in the Bad Boys days he might have grasped rhythm but these days he throws so much stuff into a scene that you can't tell what's going on. He might do "big" well but he has no grasp of style.

I'd also argue that Bay's visual style (which he's apparently famous for) has been copied from David Fincher's "L A Woman" video for Billy Idol. Compare and contrast the trailer for Bad Boys (1995) with "L A Woman" which came out in 1990.





Fincher had been using that visual style for his music videos since the late 80's - you can see it in the music videos he did for "Janie's Got A Gun", "Express Yourself", "Freedom 90", "Cradle of Love", "Cold Hearted"...

As far as Dwaye Johnson, he's been an action star as far back as 2003 - he only just did a movie with Bay two years ago. IMO Nic Cage was more of an action hero in Con Air - his character in The Rock was really kind of a nerd. Of the 20 movies Cage did after Bay, 5 were action movies (I'm going up to Ghost Rider in his filmography here) so with only 25% of his roles for that period being action-oriented, I'd still have to say Cage is more an actor who takes a variety of roles rather than a flat-out action hero.

Have I met the dude? No. Despite my vitriolic ranting about the man, I don't wish testicular cancer upon him or anything dreadful - but it sh*ts me off when mediocrity is rewarded. That's how we end up with people famous for nothing, like the Kardiashians. I think he's vastly overrated and his attitude towards the people who put him where he is ticks me off. The fact that he's also pulled sh*t like making Fox wash his Ferrari as part of her audition, or dumping Huntington-Whiteley in the desert in her underwear and heels "to see what her walk looks like" just blisters my butt-barnacles.

He's far from the only person to be sexist towards women in Hollywood - he ain't the first and he for sure won't be the last - and you could absolutely argue that Fox and Victoria's Secret models-cum-actors like Huntington-Whiteley know the game they're playing and get no argument back whatsoever from me... but as you've said yourself - we vote with our dollars. He might in reality be the nicest guy in the world - he might donate millions to animal shelters and good causes. But you don't deserve to get rich just for being nice - if that were how the world worked, I would've racked up at least a few thousand before I became the bitter, maladjusted malcontent I am today. So again it basically comes back to me not understanding why people give him their money when he appears to be extremely ambivalent towards the product he's selling us and contemptuous towards both his audience and actors.

It's cool if you don't agree - we're all entitled to our opinions, but that's my POV on it. It's totally possible that I'm wrong, that I'm just being an asshole and that I've basically made the dude some sort of symbolic effigy for all the things in society that irritate me and I'm now castigating him relentlessly online.

I like when the New Guys try and dictate how the threads are gonna go to people who've been here longer than most marriages. As if this place has ever stayed strictly on a topic for more than 15 minutes in its history.

I've said it a million times: Anyone who can't handle the fact that Drome threads often sail far out to sea and return to port after a fortnight is seriously in the wrong place.

But yeah, if you don't want people to talk about pics or anything else, don't post 'em here. Just click the little "Like" button on the FB page or whatever where you see them at and call that your contribution. Anyone can Google the movie and see the exact same pics that are being posted here. Or they can go on yahoo, aintitcool, or any number of other places. Thus, they don't NEED to be posted on this forum. By posting them on this forum, you are inherently inviting conversation, discussion, and debate about the images being posted here. That's how it works.

Really not complicated in the least.

Sorry, I'm not, but I do take the turtles seriously and you guys act like you want this movie to crash and burn. But you shouldn't. Look at Spider-Man. It wasn't that long ago we had Andrew Garfield's movies now we're getting the real deal from Marvel. Look at Batman. We just came off Nolan's run and we're already getting Batman v. Superman. Terminator franchise even. We don't want another one of those long hiatus after this is done. Voice your opinions once the movie is out and pray for bad reviews if you don't like but support it regardless because it's not Platinum Dunes you're supporting, it's the turtles. The people who make the BIG decisions DO see that kinda stuff. They're able to recognize that the movie made tons of $ but everyone hated and they're able to equate that to people love/want TMNT but not like this, so they reboot sooner. Otherwise it's "Reboot TMNT? Nah there wasn't enough interest last time."

I sincerely love this argument. It's so contradictory that it's almost art.

"Support this movie! So it can be successful! So they can reboot it SOONER for literally no goddamn reason because it's successful!"

Even if the movie totally sucks, like the first one absolutely did, we should still support it and hope for its success.

I love the Turtles, and they deserve a hell of a lot better than Michael Bay/Platinum Dunes.

Yeah... as if they're going to listen to anything but the *cha-ching* of dollar signs. Bay and his ilk really don't come across as the sorts that give a Splinter's butt if we're interested or not. Only something big enough, like the collective reaction to the alien script, that is strong enough to penetrate their thick skulls and click in their brain waves that maybe there is enough ill feeling about something that it's detrimental to their potential profits - then they might budge.

It makes me wish there were such things as powerful fan guilds that had enough influence on studios to have the power to veto hiring decisions on films. Such as getting some like Bay or these writers OUT if people don't want a person involved.

I feel for the Turtles, they do deserve so much better. Heck, at this point I'd be ok with keeping the 2014 guys for the time being and just getting them into someone else's hands to see what a better, more solid (and much more substance filled) movie could do with/for them.
