Also, seems like the book is a text novel, not a picture novel like the Alien Attack! book (which introduced Mona Lisa). Are there any pictures in the book at all (other than the cover art)?

Anyway, MAN, this series is getting as dark as the 2003 series would go! The last time Splinter was stabbed was in the 2003 episode "The Darkness Within" right? And even then it wasn't reality, this time it's for real!

Some theories based on what was implied by the book:

Spoiler:

- Shredder kinda make-shift to form an ally with Splinter (or so we thought) when the 3rd invasion came, as this time the invaders aren't on his side and they have to work together to save humanity
- Shredder betrays Splinter (duh... he didn't care for humanity anyway... muahahahaha...) and stabs him in the chest
- April blasts Shredder away and Splinter speaks some last words and dies
- The turtles and April reluctantly leaves Splinter and escapes via Fugitoid's spaceship as the earth gets swallowed by the black hole generator
- I think, the black hole generator was invented by Fugitoid himself (he could have been forced to do so by the Kraang as a weapon against the Triceratons)
- Casey's not with them... something bad happened to him too? Or he was swallowed together into the black hole, along with Shredder & co, Bishop, the Mighty Mutanimals and everyone else on Earth?
- So, they travel back to six months ago, what's next? Will they spend the next six months mostly in space? The entire first half of Season 4?
- Can Fugitoid's spaceship open a portal into Dimension X? Or just the outer space within Earth's dimension?
- They should be meeting Mona Lisa, Armaggon, and Lord Dregg during this space (and/or Dimension X) arc
- What about the OT dimension? It's still on track for them to meet their OT counterparts right?
- Where are their actual past selves during this six months? Still at the farm house?
- Will they be coming back to earth to set some history on course again? We might see more explanation of things that happened off-screen during that period in NYC (like how Splinter lost his mind?) and maybe even the weird stuffs that happened at the farmhouse
- Maybe, just maybe, they met Bishop in space and actually sent him to warn their past selves about the Triceratons invasion

I'm kinda glad the time travelling arc does not end right after Tale of the Yokai, there's so much more potential ahead!

I picked up the book and read it today (I don't know what took you guys so long to read it its large print not that many pages but anyway nevermind) I'll pick up where Bitsy left off and try to answer the questions as best I can. First of all I cannot wait for these episodes so awesome!
Regarding Karrai, all that is said is that* shredder asks Splinter where is she and all he says in reply is* that she is gone, doesn't say anything about her humanity or mind being back,* just that she's gone but still on earth which is why shredder agrees to an alliance
They form an alliance to destroy the Triceratons black hole creator machine which they call the Heart of darkness,* but during the battle shredder betrays splinter. The part where shredder kills, literally kills, Splinter is so intense! It says in the book his heart stopped beating, and all the turtles surround him crying, as Shredder just laughs and says "Finally, Hamato Yoshi is finished! Earth can be destroyed for all I care. I have Finally won!"

After splinters death, while the earth is about to be destroyed, professor Honeycutt shows up, and takes the Turtles April and Casey into his spaceship they go back in time 6 months into the past as he explains to them that the Triceratons* have been searching for the parts for the heart of darkness for the past 6 months but now it's up to the Turtles April and Casey to find all the pieces before the Triceratons,* to stop the invasion of the earth.

Regarding Bishop; I can't wait to see him in action! There's no picture of him in the book just the discription, but it does discribe his fighting style, which sounds very similar to 2k3 version. It says he's always "in constant motion, kicking, punching, and firing his energy gun" and I don't think anyone has said what happens to him. He's fighting off Triceratons when one sneaks up behind him shoots him in the back, destroying his body, and his Utrom body runs away squealing.

I'm most excited about the Fugitiod, I'm a big Doctor Who fan and the book describes him having a "distinguished British accent" LOL. I also find it funny that his ship not only flies through space, but time as well.

Appreciate the compliment, Kraken. I'm going to try to post the rest of the book. I have it here in front of me and I could try to paraphrase chapter by chapter. Shouldn't take too long since I only have about 50 some pages and this is a preteen-reading level book.

Ok, part 2:

The Turtles and allies start to attack the Triceratons. Slash and Leatherhead make an attempt to destroy the Heart of Darkness (what the Triceratons call the Black Hole Simulator), but are unable to completely destroy it. The Triceratons use force-field generators and trap Slash, Rockwell, and Leatherhead. Mikey tries to save Leatherhead, but Mozar beams down and traps Mikey, taking him prisoner aboard the ship before the others can save him. Casey makes an attempt, but he gets caught in a force field as well. April tries to save him, but Raph stops her and tells her they need to retreat. She promises to come back for Casey and Splinter calls for a retreat. As they're escaping, Donnie sees a device on one of the fallen Triceratons and takes it with them.

Back on the ship, Mozar takes Mikey to Commander Zolin and tells them what happened back on Earth. Mikey pleads with the Triceratons to spare Earth, but they won't listen. Then, somehow, Mikey uses his "ninja training" and punches out the forcefield, then attacks, but Zolin easily stops him. He asks Mozar what they should do and Mozar suggests using a "Psonic Extractor," a device only used for the most dangerous of criminals. Zolin is hesitant, but obeys and they bring out a large chair covered in blades and prongs.

Meanwhile, back on a building, the others are trying to figure out how to save Mikey and the other Mutanimals that were captured. Splinter says the Black Hold generator is the top priority, but Leo argues that Mikey is more important. So Splinter tells Leo to take his brothers to save Mikey and the others. Meanwhile, April and Splinter will assist the aide of someone even more powerful than the mutanimals: The Shredder. (Ok, breathe a sigh of relief, people. Shredder will NOT be that giant monster...or he won't be that for very long).

On the Mother ship, Mikey is attached to the Extractor and Mozar explains that it will drain him of all knowledge of Earth and the Kraang. Also, it will chop and slice his psyche to bits. The Extractor is turned on and a beam of energy goes into Mikey's head....causing him to burst into hysterical laughter. Mozar is confused as to why Mikey is enjoying himself and orders the machine to be turned off. Mikey, however, said it was "better than a hundred, million roller coasters through space" and begs them to turn it back on. The only useful information they were able to get from Mikey was pizza. Mozar is so upset, he orders Mikey to be destroyed. He's hooked back up to the extractor, but Mikey says that he can help the Triceratons because he knows all the Kraang bases in Dimension X. This intrigues Mozar and decides to keep Mikey alive, but Mikey was secretly lying to buy himself more time.

Splinter and April go to Shredder's lair, only to be attacked by Bebop, Tiger Claw, and Rocksteady. Before the fight can continue, Shredder appears and asks why they have come. Splinter tells Shredder that their feud is pointless in an invasion and asks for help against the Triceratons. Shredder, however, wants to know where Karai is and demands her location. Splinter says they have searched the city for her, but she is gone. Shredder doesn't believe them and is about to attack Shredder when April tells Shredder that he has a chance to be a hero for once. If he really loves Karai, he should fight the Triceratons because if they win and the world is blown up, Karai will be killed along with it. This seems to get Shredder's attention...

The Turtles, meanwhile, find the ship Mikey had been flying with Casey and hijack it, heading straight towards the mother ship. Donnie is able to get the cloaking feature working, but the Triceratons are still able to detect them. Raptor ships are sent out to attack them. Leo asks Donnie how they can be spotted, to which Donnie retorts. "Let me text them and find out. I HAVE NO IDEA!!!" (Had to put that in!) They were able to fight off one ship, but then the Mother ship fires a plasma cannon directly at them and their ship is destroyed. Fortunately, the device that Donnie had grabbed earlier was a teleporter. Just before the ship exploded, Donnie was able to teleport them directly on to the ship where the Triceratons were waiting.

Back at Washington Square, the Triceratons were completing the work on the Black hole generator. Shredder, Splinter, and the others manage to sneak past the defenses just as the generator gets booted up.

On the mother ship, the Turtles are reunited with Mikey and brought before Mozar. Donnie begs him that Earth has too much potential to be destroyed, in which Mozar argues how the planet has been suffering under the human's rule even without the Kraang's help (pollution, ozone layer, etc.). Leo tells them that if they don't change their mind now, he was going to destroy the Triceratons. Mozar thinks he's bluffing, but Leo then grabs a teleporter off a nearby guard and throws it at the wall. It takes out a chunk of the wall and creates a vacuum, sucking them all into space. Mozar unintentionally blocks the hole with his body, giving Mikey enough time to grab another teleporter off a nearby Triceraton and zaps them all back to Earth in the middle of the battle. April is able to save Casey from the forcefield, but is unable to save the rest of the Mutanimals and is forced to escape with Casey.

(You guys already know about this, but...)

Splinter and Shredder are fighting the Triceratons and just as Splinter is able to shut down the “Heart of Darkness”....Shredder stabs Splinter. The Turtles run to Splinter’s aide while April knocks Shredder out with a psychic blast. As the Turtles are craddling Splinter’s body, Shredder is satisfied that Splinter is finally dead (Yeah..he really does die. I just couldn’t believe they would let that happen in this cartoon. Again, sorry for the troll accusation. I will never live that down).

Just as the Heart of Darkness starts to destroy all of Earth, a spaceship hovers down and a small figure invites the Turtles, Casey, and April aboard. The Earth is destroyed, the Triceratons celebrate and leave.

The Turtles are in shock about what just happened until Fugitoid appears and asks them if they’d like some hot cocoa. He then tells them they’re about to embark an wonderous adventure. Also, he knows who they all are and even their names. Before the Turtles can find out anything more, Honeycutt activates the ship to go back in time 6 months before the destruction.

He then goes on to tell them about how the Utroms had broken down the black hole generator into three fragments and spread them across the universe. They make a plan to find the fragments before the Triceratons do, but they only have one chance to do this. According to Honeycutt, “a blackhole prevents repeated localized time travel. Because even time is subject to its attraction.” Honeycutt says he’s helping them because Bishop had sent for him and he is a friend of the Utroms. Also, he’s a “c-c-cyborg.” He actually has a human brain inside his suit, which Casey and Mikey think is totally awesome. Honeycutt then shows them the galaxy and their new space suits, including alien language converters. He also had them glow in their appropriate colors because Honeycutt has a hard time telling them apart, which he chuckles. The Turtles are loving this and Leo immediately goes into Space Heroes mode. Even April and Casey get specialized suits as well.

And so, the book ends with the Turtles and friends going into space to search for the fragments.

Again, I want to apologize for any rudeness or delays I have caused. I wanted to make these as detailed as possible because I know you guys really wanted to know what happened. Also, I have a job and house to take care of, so life kept getting in the way so it was hard for me to find the time to type all this up. Hope I’m not repeating too much stuff.

He does die, but it appears that he won't be fully dead since Fugitoid has taken them back six months in time so it looks like they have to try and prevent Splinter from dying. Pretty dark for a kids' show, and I can't wait for it. This is going to be awesome. And I'm also glad we'll see more of Geeky Leo. I love Geeky Leo!
