I took exception to:

The nerve of these presumptuous kids today. As if we don't "Get it".

We "get it" just fine, it's just that most of the idealism gets knocked out of you the second or third time you get fired from a job for actually being sick to the point where it's an "inconvenience" to your employer (even though legally they can't do that)... or you get fired for your kid being sick and you have to take THEM somewhere... or your boyfriend/husband loses his job and the family has to go on welfare, and in a couple months you go from "living comfortably and stable" to "one step above homeless"... or any number of other scenarios people tend to go through in the first few years after high school, when they're thrown unprepared into a Real World that doesn't give a sh*t if they feel "Safe" or "Included".

Idealism doesn't stretch very far when you get out of school and realize a few simple things: Life Isn't Fair, It's Never Been Fair, It Never WILL Be Fair, and You're Not Going To "Fix" It So That It IS Fair. At that point, Survival becomes paramount, and all that "Save the World" stuff just starts to look like the hassle it is. Who's got time, in between working just enough not to get fired and getting paid just enough to not quit? "Save the Trees", "Save the Whales", "Save Those Snails!"

Feh. Save Your Breath, I got sh*t to do.

Alot of times you keep acting like your some blameless victim and we are all just ignorant bullies. Stop wallowing in self pity, and learn to recognize flaws within yourself not just society.
