This episode was a bit bizarre
I'm wondering why the angry Mikey was the biggest version in Mikey's imagination, perhaps hidden anger towards someone? Just saying....

I can't believe they did Belly Bomb. I'm so happy.
If he ever comes back, let's play on the twisted surgeon angle for him, yes?

Yeah I wondered about that too and I also wonder why is his funny side was so small.

I assume it's because he's got so much anger he keeps it all bottled up which is not healthy. Or his anger is under control.

In the rap song angry Mikey's said this:

“I may seem chill, but I do get mad, which makes me ill, so I try to stay rad!”

So apparently becoming angry makes him ill which is interesting and it could be due to keeping his anger all bottled up. I wondering if it's forshadowing something too.

They're just itty-bitty Cylons.

I just thought that his angry side was biggest to make him more intimidating while the funny side made him seem small and cute. I didn't find it particularly odd at the time but you could be right.

I had a theory about that in my initial post here,

I found it extremely ironic that the serious/angry side was the biggest. Up until this episode, he hadn't been particularly goofy. Look at the last episode. Leo going on about not knowing how to handle the rage...Mikey's suggestion, "focus it on the demon dudes". That was good advice.

I also found the rap a bit insightful. I'm probably looking too much into it, but...I'm under the impression that Mikey does have a "rage" side, but has had more practice to keep it in check, unlike maybe Raph. In the rap, he also mentioned that he doesn't like the anger feeling. It makes him feel bad so he does his best to remain mello. Like I said, I'm probably overthinking it, but I just feel that this says a lot about the character and kind of goes nicely with the last ep, don't you think?
...but also said so here...

It's painful to read.
In this regard, I agree with Vicky. Think about it.

I actually started watching something I hadn't thought about in years and forgot it existed until a couple of days ago. Herman's Head. I used to like the show, despite my age at the time because of the four different sides (sensitivity, lust, anxiety, intellect) of Herman clashing with one another. Sometimes one is stronger than the other and it affects his decisions. Like there was one ep where Herman was lying to a lady about who he and his friend (played by Hank Azaria) were because she was royalty and they were reporters trying to get a story (lust has the most control there and kept beating out sensitivity). Sensitivity became stronger and then beat out lust and intellect (he was all about getting the story) and Herman came out as decent for that episode and made the right, more thoughtful decision regarding the secret the princess was keeping and had confided in him as she didn't know he and his friend were reporters (she was the type to avoid them) and was approaching him as a friend.

So yeah, in that regard, I could see where Vicky is coming from. Mikey can be a glutton...at times. He's the eater of the group (and the cook). I could see his gluttonous side taking over or becoming stronger (for certain moments and seems it's always the case with new foods this season so far). Seems, based on the lyrics from the rap, Mikey has the most control over his rage/anger side....not so much the other sides of himself.

I agree with you on that Mikey has been a bit more laid back until this episode and it's probably due to witnessing Splinters death, missing Ice cream Kitty and Leatherhead as he is sensitive. Mikey didn't seem to stand out until Riddle of the Ancient Aeons.

Mikey did kill Spirit Rahzar by slitting his throat, he also killed the Mega Shredder brain.

I wonder if this was one of the episodes that was made later when Nick added the extra 6 episodes.

I haven't even checked who wrote this episode.

Yeah. Also, I noticed for that ep when they would come to their senses it was usually Mikey who would be like,"What are we doing?" Maybe Mikey really does have a really good grasp on how to deal with rage..unless he is only bottling it up. I actually hope this does foreshadow something. Maybe April possibly going dark is a red herring and Mikey will instead.

Yeah, but it wasn't a real kill. It wasn't the real Rahzar or a living being...although, at the time, I theorized that Mikey had a dark side given the way his kill was done compared to the others.

Overall, not a bad episode. Definitely got a Psychonauts vibe from the Turtles being inside Mikey's mind. (although it must be mentioned that Mikey's mind, especially his imagination, is far wackier than anything that Raz has encountered so far.)

As for the Neutrinos, I can't say that I'm too fond of their design, but it is good to see them as I have been wanting to ever since they were first mentioned in "Danger of the Ooze".

I thought of another thing that why Mikey could keeping all his anger in and why he doesn't seem himself, not because of Splinter because he doesn't have Ice Cream Kitty up in space with him to talk and play with.

Last season he had ICK with him at the farmhouse and they both spent a lot of time together. He talked to her about his frustrations (Buried Secrets) and they played together (The Croaking) so she kept him happy and entertained and she listened to him.

So because Mikey hasn’t got ICK, he hasn’t got anyone to play with to keep him happy and entertained and he hasn’t got anyone to talk to about his problems/frustrations so all of that is building up into big angry Mikey and keeping all his anger bottled up could be really unhealthy for him (I know he’s had a few small spurts of anger but I don’t think that’s enough), he needs to let all his anger out some how.

It was an okay episode, however so much more could have come out of it. I was hoping to see experiences from his childhood, Mikey interacting with his brothers...
I guess I was let down.
On the other hand, I really liked professor Honeycutt this episode. The way he got behind Belly Bomb and waited for him to turn around to punch him was really cool. And, the fact that they got the schematics gets me impatient for the next episode. Seeing the turtles infiltrate the triceratons mother ship will be cool.

YES.

I'm surprised that this episode didn't take the opportunity to revisit Mikey's precognative abilities, as established in season three's Vision Quest episode. While the TMNT meditate in preparation for undertaking their quests, Mikey experiences a vision of the sky swirling open before frightening himself into wakefulness.
(I think it was the Vision Quest episode. They were all sitting up in the tree tops at night.)
In fact, so little has been made of this particular piece of foreshadowing that I wouldn't be surprised if it's used as the timelines "anchor point" for when the TMNT travelled backwards six months.

I agree, that's such a disappointment. What a missed opportunity.

Mere soulless robots with no personality. Sigh.

Oh well, lil Mikey makes it up.

This is one of the few eps I watch over and over, mainly for the scenery featured.

Didn't most people hate the original Neutrinos for being annoying?

The Neutrino's were okay, I just hated the 1950's lingo and the voices particularly Zak and Dask's were like nails on a chalkboard.
