Exxxxxactly. Like I predicted, it was an insult. Apparently, I also can do palm readings. Considering me synonymous with an "angry fanboy" of BvS is wrong however. BvS wasn't the best, but it was a set up movie for justice league. I wasn't too personally concerned. And while I'm more than glad my and others multiple viewings of SS will help the movie, I saw it, like I said, because others wanted to see it and I really enjoyed it, not just to boost it's sales.

It wasn't an insult. It was a prediction.
Lot's of raging DC apologists are doing what you are. It's part of the culture. BTW, you made an assumption, not a prediction. Chill kid. |

If you're going to sit there correcting something so minuscule, I'd like to join in on the fun.
Because despite the fact that you made a "prediction," it was still insulting. As most things are with you. My motivation for seeing the movie multiple times wasn't "raging" but general like of the movie. You didn't make a prediction. You made an assumption. And a wrong one at that.

I've seen this movie twice now and loving it more.
The audience love it and laughed a lot, some emotional heartfelt scenes too; people just love it. "God help anyone who disrespected the Queen".

I read the bashing of BvS and now Suicide Squad and how the story is confusing and editing is jarring and yet, I was not knocked from my seat from edit cuts, I was not confused about the story. Why are we giving these idiots any power by accepting their stupid reviews? They can't even follow along with a simple movie plot. Then there are the fanboys. They think they own these cartoons. They think they have final say on how a character should be portrayed in a film. "That's not MY Joker" "That's not MY Batman". Grow up. Like every comic book writer, the directors and writers are taking existing characters and putting their own spin on it. Only with comic books that's accepted, and in the movies it's sh*t on. The movies have to take 30 years of backstory and jam it into 2 hours. SORRY if they missed out on that one page from a comic book in 1978 that you liked. These movies are supposed to be an escape for people to go and be taken away into a fantasy world for 2 hours. Normal people aren't in there criticizing every editing choice or some formula you THINK you know because you read reviews from people who aren't creative enough to make movies so they just tear them down. These movies don't deserve to bashed like they are. There are much worse movies that get praised because they fit the formula. Then fans of these movies get shafted because THEY like them, and want more, but because of dickheads, the movies start to flop, and we don't get to see more.

The notion that this movie was made for fans and not critics is hilarious to me. People would be surprised at the number of critics that are comic book fans and geek culture in general.

That notion comes off as insulting towards fans. It implies that we have low standards and that we'll accept crap.

And that's fine, I don't expect everyone to like this movie. I just find it frustrating to read reviews that use "studio meddling" as a reason for a bad movie. There have been plenty of movies saved by studio meddling that you'll never hear about. But once these things get tossed in the rumor mill, it informs the critic or movie goer if they allow it. If your friends are just casual movie fans, or casual comic book movie fans, I can totally understand why they wouldn't like the movie. I'm merely attacking the people who bash movies based on reviews, or rumors and act like they KNOW the movie is bad because other people said so.

And if that's the case, why bother giving the audience the film at all? Why not be like George Lucas and only make films as a hobby and for friends? After all, we lesser, unknowledgeable people don't know what a good film is! We're too busy with our noses in the thesaurus looking for words to express our excitement or distaste for a film. Like I said: I'm not a cook, and I don't know what makes for good food (by the way, cooking/baking is a bit of an art to an extent) but I sure know what bad food tastes like. So does everyone else in the world. You don't need to be a world-famous chef to know when the food you're eating sucks. Last edited by TheSkeletonMan939; 08-07-2016 at 09:22 AM. |

Jared Leto flat out said he was angered that so many of his Joker scenes were cut. This isn't speculation, the actor flat out confirmed it. If you also look at the trailers many of those Joker scenes are not in the movie.
After Batman/Superman was released with nearly an hour of new footage on blu-ray that was cut from theaters, is it really so unbelieveable the same happened to this movie? |

The legs of Suicide Squad are being called into question because a drop occurred on Saturday, the total was projected to be 142 million is now about 135.5 million. It appears there was a large group who wanted to see it saw it immediately on Thursday night through Friday. If it is to have legs those of us in that group need to tell our friends random comic book made into a movie is actually quite engaging.

How much does the movie have to make to break even? Are we looking at another Ghostbusters or TMNT situation here?
