Interesting point, but I don't think logic necessarily follows that if Mirage Shredder gets killed before the 1st issue gets "published" that it necessarily wipes all other Shredders out of existence. Now if Mirage TMNT get killed then there is no comic to publish and no franchise to grow the multi-verse.
So... am I making sense?

I haven't read anyone else mentioning this, but the only time during this movie that I actually laugh rather than just smirk is when Krang croaks and Shredder yells, "Quiet!" ^_^

I'm pretty sure I get you, cuz I was having the same thoughts (as was gobo apparently

). Basically, it all goes back to the original incarnation of the Turtles themselves, not Shredder. Without those Turtles, nothing of the Turtleverse could exist. Losing Mirage Shredder however, is much less of a deal, since even his existence is tied to them. It's not tied to each character's origin, they could kill Mirage Casey and 2K3 Casey wouldn't feel a thing. Kill the Mirage TMNT however, everyone dies.

...Basically.

I think that's why it had to be done in issue 1's timeframe too (outside of the thematic reason of that just being badass). If Ch'rell had tried to kill them from any later issue, it wouldn't matter, the world would have already been created. He had to nip it in the bud from the very origin.

Cuz everyone is used to his voice from season 3 and onwards.... plus Leo was lot more serious in season 1. He didn't act goofier til season 3 and so, so seeing him act all silly with the deeper more serious season 1 voice is pretty jarring.

That is not what he sounded like in season 1. That's what they were going for, and it was a decent imitation... but he sounds like freakin Yugioh... cause he is freakin Yugioh

I prefer the Uncut version of course, but I definitely like my Turtles lots. - I've seen both the '88 Turtles cartoon as well as 2K3... Sure, Turtles Forever old toon Leo's voice wasn't quite right to me but it's good enough... (i like yugioh, first season only though)

As for Mirage Shredder 'falling' off building, how I see it he isn't 'dead'...
so thats one way how 2K3 Shredder is "still there", to me at least...

that movie, uncut version, is pretty much how my pictured them... old toons turtles sillyness, well... what would they do for like 13 years? I'm thinking they got a fairly good break-time during that time......everyone needs a break every now and then...
thats how i've seen it when old toon turtles 'ended'... anyways...

whatever Nickelodeon does with them, regardless, I'll most likely watch. Whenever Turtles is on, I watch if I can catch it even if it is a repeat

. Cartoon-wise more so anyways...
Don't have my DVD played hooked up here yet so can't record anything...

hmm... not sure if there is anything else I'd like to say at the moment...

Heck, if they could have done it without it looking corny, it would have been cool to have 2K3 Shredder going after the creators themselves. Technically, THEY are the start - what if they just came up with the original turtles once more after Shredder destroys them?

Actually that's what I was thinking when I was watching the movie for the first time. When 2k3 Shredder said he was going to the place where everything started, I thought he was going to the real world, and that there would be a live action / animation segment (like in Who Framed Roger Rabbit.)

not sure that i can, but what could be on that side of the building that's not shown? (sometimes cartoons have old bed mattresses in the garbage dumpsters)...

I think he meant that Mirage Shredder did not die from the fall, and thus there's no problem with 2k3 being alive after that.

The point everyone else seems to be making is that Mirage Shredder's survival had no correlation to 4Kids Shredder's existence. Mirage Shredder was destined to die in the first issue anyway.

I was watching this on DVD yesterday and noticed a couple of things in the OT lair. They are both when Don starts throwing things out of his desk, first is a NES controller and the other is a TMNT toy.
