It's a new movie. Why should they worry about what the other things did?

If the movie really is more of adaptation of the OT, Bebop and Rocksteady being absent would be weird.

But it's not really an adaptation of the OT, the Turtles and Splinter weren't aliens, Casey and April weren't 18, Shredder wasn't an alien called Schrader, and the Foot wasn't an black-ops units. Plus there's the fact that the Shredder changes henchmen all the time. It would be weird if Shredder didn't get some original henchmen.

Oy. Well its a loose adaptation then using characters and themes from the OT. Bebop and Rocksteady are still popular characters. You continue to muddy up your point by bring up nonsense. Whats the problem with using those characters?

I'd rather have the known henchmen over new lame stand-ins.

It's true though. It's an unwritten rule that Shredder's henchmen must keep changing.

Definitely. The script certainly took more from the Fred Wolfe toons than the comics. I would definitely much rather Bebop and Rocksteady than another Secret of the Ooze debacle, where they had a perfect opportunity to use them but still didn’t. Plus, Bebop and Rocksteady, design-wise, would be much more striking than just mere “henchmen”. With motion-capture technology, they could look phenomenal. That’s one of the things that still keeps me going about the whole thing. Unnecessary changes aside, this will be unlike any TMNT film we’ve seen before, visually speaking at least.

Since when? And who cares if it is? It's a brand new movie!

Well there's the fact, that when you bring in more mutants, (or aliens in this case) it makes the Turtles less unique.

That's not a fact at all. That's an opinion.

I never really understood why people like Bebop and Rocksteady. I really don't like incompetent henchman. That cliche needs to die a painful, agonizing death. In fact, I prefer it when the villain does his own handiwork instead of sending a bunch of bumbling buffoons to do it for him.

Yeah well that's your problem. I think it can be funny when done right. B&R are fun and nothing more. Who cares?

Why is that supposed to be a legitimate answer that works perfectly fine for you, but not for Stryker?

Yeah, you're right. I should be more like you and not have standards. :p

Oh. Good one.

It's not about not having standards it's about liking what I like and not getting whiny about villains in a movie for kids not being 'credible threats'.

To clarify, I think Laird's writing is a big joke. You read Vol.4? I cried from the laughter of it all.

Chill dude, I wasn't "whining." I was giving my opinion. If you don't care about integrity in films, that's your prerogative. But back off from your condescending attitude a bit .

You're being a tad over-generalized with calling the Platinum Dunes film "a kid's movie." Kids will be able to see it, but obviously this is going to be more for a broader audience. Kids, teenagers, twenty-somethings, the gamer crowd, potheads, etc. I seriously doubt the final film will be anything more or less than PG-13, and probably no more of a kid's movie than the Transformers films were.

I tried watching it again a few years ago, but I couldn't get past the first few episodes. My god, that show was bad, and to be fair, that's probably why I don't look back fondly on Bebop, Rocksteady, and Krang.
