Uh...we get to see Leo thrown through a window, and the signing poster was a mock-up of Mirage Issue 10. That's a HUGE plot reveal.

I know some are complaining about Donnie taking Raph's role here, but how is it any different from the first movie? They changed some of the roles there. The Leo one-shot became the Raph one-shot. The movie in general was all about Raph. The 2k7 movie...all about Raph (and Leo). I just don't have a prob with the reimagining here.

I do agree, Mikey and Raph do need more development. Raph still have the anger issue thing that still hasn't been fully explained. I like that he's a hothead, but a softy at the same time. I'm positive, though, that Ciro has good things in store for both. I'm just going to wait and see what happens before judging.
I have a bit of a rant here in response. No disrespect to anyone.

Spoiler:
You know what, this is how I see it. Wow, Raph got focused in 2 whole movies. WOW. That's what, a whopping 186 minutes, give or take, in the span of 30 years, where the three most prominent and memorable cartoons have ran a total of 20 seasons, and I bet there isn't even 10 episodes based on Raph. So I'm not buying this crap that "well, he got development in the movies." Just two, Donnie was the main focus in the second movie, Mikey in the third and Raph and Leo were about equal. Please understand why us Raph fans are getting bitter with the TV shows. And in the beginning of the season one, I was excited at first, thinking wow, this show is going to be good. It's letting the entire team shine. Then the second half of season one started, and I have been getting disappointed ever since. I see some episodes that perk me up, but I feel like I am getting that frustration I got with 2k3. What's the point of have four brothers if you are just going to focus on one or two.

I'm glad that I don't really have a favorite turtle, as it changes from medium to medium. Like for Mirage, I favored Donny and Mikey. For the OT Raph and Mikey, for Archie, Raph and Donny, for the original movies, Raph, etc.

That aside, I can understand the frustration and I mentioned the movies as it was a change that most seemed to like. I still feel that something nice will be in store for Raph. I want the source of his anger explained and focused on. How did he become this way? How did he become so friendly with animals, as I would expect that from Mikey. I don't mind if he doesn't get the plot related eps (although Plan 10 pushes the plot forward), but character focus suits me fine.

I still wonder, though if writers have a difficult time trying to figure out what to do with his character in general.

Part of Raph's anger seems to stem from Jealousy towards Leo. Because he's the eldest, the favorite, the one who seems the flaunt that he's a better ninja then everyone else. So Raph tends to feel like he is perpetually in Leo's shadow.

But I'm looking forward to learning more about Raph's anger issues and what is causing them.

this show has definitly fleshed out leo and donnie in my opinion more than any incarnation.

i honestly believe we just need to be patient for raph and mikeys development. we know were getting an episode on raphs anger/cracked shell, and im hoping mikey gets some decent arcs with some of the new characters

I was glancing over at the Nick boards, and the posters there all have the perfect storyline for Raph. And if they do this in the show, I will take back everything I said about it, and will admit it is the best incarnation. That they bring in Raph's alter-ego, The Nightwatcher. That was the best thing about that movie for me.

Eh, I disagree at the moment. I still think Leo was more fleshed out in 2k3. But, I did say for the moment. And I'm not sure about Donnie yet. He seems more like an OT Raph ripoff more than the Donnie I am used to/prefer.

When I first saw the Slash ep and at the part when he first took the mutagen to his room saying they should be out fighting crime, I was wondering if the show would reintroduce that at some point since they are being inspired by many previous incarnations.

TBH, the alter-ego would be nice to see after the Leo beat down. Raph wanting vengeance and coming up with the Nightwatcher alter ego to do so which could also have him reflect and focus on his anger issues.

A couple of months ago, I mentioned how nice it would be if after the best down and escape, if they focus on each turtle and how they handle the situation while also getting more or better insight on their characters.

for leo i guess "fleshed out" isnt correct. i guess im saying nick leo is the most...cannot think of how to say it, just that hes more than just "the leader"

as for donnie, i agree, hes not the donnie were used to, definitley not the one i prefer. but this donnie is extremely developed. while i will always prefer the more quiet passive calm donnie, this nerdier, high strung donnie has gotten so much more development than i remember of any other donnie.

That I am totally opened to that. I'd love it if we got April to even jot down in her journal again, reflecting what she is seeing going on with her Turtle friends. I wonder if they would dare show Mikey get aggressive?

And this would be a good time to have some bonds between brothers we don't often see. Some Mikey and Leo bonding, and Raph and Donnie bonding. We don't see this pairing often. (I would love it, if Donnie does take up leadership, on the side lines, Raph helps him gain his confidence, kind of like how Raph was sticking up for Donnie that one time by over playing how Donnie was a badass.)

Leo is a bit more relatable in the Nick toon. In the 2k3, while I loved him in that version, he was also a bit too perfect.

This incarnation of Donnie also said that it's his thing to put up with any abuse his brothers throw at him.

This is indicated in Enemy of My Enemy where Leo is getting into the Stealth bike and Raph says that the Stealth Bike is his thing. To which Leo responds by saying "Now your thing is to suck it up!" And Donnie responds by saying "Hey, that's my thing."

Donnie's good about either ignoring his brothers insults or throwing them back at times. But Donnie also has shown that he is easily frustrated when being pushed particularly when he's not working fast enough for his brothers liking.

Yeah, like in New Girl in Town when Mikey was like why not take Donnie (Snakeweed kidnapped the pizza boy) and he just ignored it, "Snakeweed's getting away!" or the Kraang Conspiracy when Mikey was playing with that Kraang going "Blah blah, Donnie stinks..." or in Turtle Temper when Donnie looked sad when Leo cut him off. He does seem to just take it, which is why I'm looking forward to his clash with Leo.

And lets not forget the moment in the gauntlet where Donnie has to defuse the mutagen bomb and Leo gets on his case when Donnie says he's not familiar with the bombs make up.

And then later when Donnie's trying to figure it out Leo plops down next to him and gets on his case about the fact he hasn't defused it yet. Heck in that same episode Leo pulls rank on Donnie when he wants to leave Mikey with him.
Don: Why do I have to be the one whose stuck with Mikey?
Leo: I'm the leader, and I don't want him.

In 2k3 the other Turtles would let Donnie do what he needed to due no pressure. The only times they did start pressuring him was when he was cutting things a little to close for their comfort level.

Leo and Donnie have always been the two lower in fandom, they need a little help to get an audience following because they never had that "It" factor the other two had, so expose them in stories in arcs to get them that notoriety from fans and feel emotion for them.

I'm talking about new fans, new to the series and franchise. We don't count, we already have favorite turtles, our stance doesn't change that.

Realize that even with as little exposure Raph and Mikey have had, they have still garnered a big following of new fans from kids, just the more reason these arcs for Leo and Donnie to help them were dire.

Ciro I think deep down realized that and knew what he could do to help with trying to equalize the popularity of each turtle in this series.
Um, no offense, but that's entirely untrue. The turtle's popularity is pretty equal, and from a few sites I've seen, Leo beats out Mikey a tad bit.

well, in the mirage comics, don seem to be grim and brooding, often taking a raph's attitude in the comics. so maybe don being the way he is is somewhat based on that. while i did like don's calm sweetness in 2003 series, i like the fact he has somewhat of an anger issue. ya know, its nice he can act angry for once, maybe in time he'll become more calm in the future. he is, after all a teenager. and when you are a teen all you feel is anger.

what 'I' want more in this series, much as i hope for the new movie, is interacting and more episodes with don and mikey. i want to see a frustrated mikey, reaching his end and simply yelling and pointing out why he's fed up with everyone never taking him seriously.
i want to see don listen to him, and realize and understand and know that feeling. i wanna see don and mike grow more close.
i've loved their chemistry in the films the first and 2007 movie.
as well as the 2003 series.

its a simple desire. and in the few episodes i do see those two interact well together. i just want a serious brotherly heart felt ep with them a lil drama, a lil comedy and a lil more light on the two.

but thats just me. to me those two have always been best friends. even mikey's understanding gets me when he told raph in the break out ep "the heart's a soft muscle, the soft muscle does squish" or whatever the line. which, shows mikey knows more than he lets on and does show wisdom. i always got the feeling mikey in the end would be there for don if and when don is heartbroken by april's chosing of casey.

again, its just me, being a don/mikey fan.

Yeah, I'd definitely like to see more Don/Mikey interaction and maybe some Mikey/Leo interaction since we don't see much of that yet. All I know is I can't wait for what's in store for the rest of season 2. Bring it on!

Raph will get his episodes, atleast you're not a Mikey fan. We get little to no development, although the lost-in-dimension-x arc looks promising.

Oh, I feel so bad for Mikey fans. Don't get me wrong, I think Greg Cipes is a great Mikey, I just hate how immature Mike can be.
