WTF.... those movies are done! They've been out for years. You people are crying over something that hasn't even announced a single cast member or started filming.

The Star Wars reference was just an example. I could've referenced something even older like that crappy Batman movie with the Govenator as Mr. Freeze!

That's not what I was getting at. I meant there's nothing wrong for hating a completed movie if you don't like it, but it's dumb to throw a fit over something that's barely in pre-production.

Okay, getting back on topic, certain fans are upset over this alien controversey and they have a right to feel that way. I can't help but feel a little concerned and I have the right to voice my opinion.

We all want to see this new film succeed, but the producers need to realize that the Turtles' origin is a sacred part of their history, going back to the source material. For the most part it's been the same origin with every incarnation, give or take some minor tweeks to the story, and I really hope Michael Bay will understand why people are so upset.

You're kinda sorta talking outta your ass here. Watch this interview. Robbie says he hasn't read the comics, never watched more than a couple of episodes either cartoons, and never saw 2007's TMNT. And then he outright says that he's really not that big of a fan.

Now that was well said. I agree completely.

I like how some people are so pissed off about a change in the origin....not like the source material.....raping and sodomizing my childood and whatnot.

I like how the most widely recognized incarnation of Ninja Turtles has an origin that isn't exactly like the source material......but that incarnation is the thing that pretty much built this fandom.

Hey! What if they have colored bandanas. That's not from the source material. OMG maybe they'll have wacky adventures in a hot air balloon. ZOMG! Maybe. They'll. Eat. Pizza!

Stop acting like anything "not from da source materialz" with this franchise is the end of the world. You guys are embarassing the sane fans.

Bay has a history of releasing misinformation about one of his upcoming efforts. People who know this are hoping that such is the case.

Spoiler:
Not only that but he basically implies he doesn't wanna give the Nick turtles a shot. If it's not the turtles of his era, it's not good.

If it's a crap film, no, I don't want it to succeed. That would just encourage more crap product.

What? You mean to tell me Robbie Rist isn't an adequate spokesman for quality TMNT storytelling? I'm shocked...

To write Rist off like a nobody is kind of insulting to the legacy of Turtles...the guy was the voice of Michelangelo for all 3 movies - his opinion counts.

I applaud him as well!

Rist is clearly not the prim-n-proper type so why are people giving him sh*t for voicing his opinion rather loudly? So what if he appeared "unprofessional"? Who is he trying to impress? He left his awesome mark on Turtles history already, and he's getting more spotlight for what he said now anyway. Press is press.

Honestly, like any of you are so adequate with your words. Rist had every right to voice his opinion as he did, and I'm glad he did it.

There's a reasonable man.

It's a derogatory term when most of them don't know what the hell they're talking about. GRR.

There's this kind of sense that they all seem to expect me to be up in arms about it for their entertainment... but the truth is I'm just sitting here shrugging, going, "Meh. The last 4 weren't good either... what's changed? What's one more horrible one?"

I've honestly started just copying and pasting my response to save time.

Actually now is the perfect time to pitch a fit. If the idea is **** and there's no way it could possibly be good its better we speak up now before it gets made possibly preventing it. Kinda like Spider-man 4.

I use it as space to note that Bay is producing, not directing and that one of the creators is close to the project so we should just chill for the moment until more concrete info pops up.
