Anyone think they could help me find threads for Volume 4 #18 and #22? This is driving me nuts! Especially #22, that's a huge issue.
I've tried every search term imaginable. |

It’s crazy to me that those two issues didn’t have threads when they came out. Sometimes we miss issues these days, but IDW puts out like 40-50 comics a year, and we never miss the ongoing. So it’s wild to think back when Mirage was only doing 6-12 issues a year, whole issues would ever get overlooked. ESPECIALLY #22… there’s a lot to say about that one, for sure. |
Cool little project.

You won't find threads for the first half dozen or so issues - the comics forums didn't exist yet (comic forum started in '03).
You MIGHT find something in general if you dig back far enough since that goes back of 2001. https://forums.thetechnodrome.com/fo...ne=-1&page=355 |

I’m also thinking about doing a Tales Vol 2 retrospective of all 70 issues. Will be fun to bump those old threads too. Quote:

I wonder why I couldn’t find it. I used “Laird”, “cockroaches” and many other easy ones as search terms. Oh well, the hunt for #18 continues… |
The current thorn in my side is Tales #11, "The Quick and the Dead".
Pretty significant issue, with a crazy Splinter moment. I'd be very surprised if this one didn't have a thread, but it's eluding me. |

Absolutely wild to see my own comments in that thread. |

So that’s all of Tales accounted for. Great. Last two threads I need are “Michelangelo: The Third Kind” #3, which I’m pretty confident does not exist, and Volume 4 #18. Hard to believe a comic that came out in like the height of the 4kids era got skipped completely. The search continues… |

(Posts are sorted by when the thread was published, and there's... nada) |
Yeah I’m pretty confident it doesn’t exist. Kinda crazy. It wasn’t a huge issue, but Don meets a Squidbilly and Mike gets some Dino-pussy.

Hard to believe a whole issue of Vol. 4 sailed by and nobody posted anything. I even checked the Disintegrator Unit to see if it got deleted and nope.

I did find one thread started by tokka where he shared the preview for #18 about a month before release. It got like 5 responses, but no discussion happened upon the actual release. SAD! |
Just tracked down a thread for Vol. 4 #6 in the 4kids cartoon section. Might poke around there some more.
EDIT: That was the ticket. Found something for everything but #1 and #2. I wish I could say that was a "gold mine", but the average IQ of the teenage weirdos posting here at that time was definitely lacking. No real interesting or insightful reviews or reactions. Sad! |

One good thing they could do for the new Vol 4 reprints is to ask Peter Laird to do new duoshade-like digital toning for the later issues or to ask someone from the old Mirage gang to produce some new short stories to add at the end of the issues. Or some new pinups, at least...
